our creative process
Over the years we have collected these in-room recordings that capture the unique atmosphere of rooms and places during our travels. Our equipment varies from session to session, adapting to the environment – whether in a bustling city, a quiet town, a remote countryside, the Himalayas, the Amazon or a remote island. Our goal was to document the essence of each space, preserving the aural footprint of each location we visited.
Some recordings feature nothing but stillness, while others include sightings of local wildlife heard through windows or thin walls. You can also detect ambient noise, such as heaters, distant hums, machinery, traffic, or neighbors, which resonate differently depending on the surrounding buildings.
We carefully selected the best recordings and refined them, removing parts that had too much variation. Each sound has been carefully edited to keep noise levels within a “subtle” range, ensuring they work seamlessly as background ambience, smoothing out the sonic environment of any scene.
