Rick and Morty is a show filled with controversy, not least because its co-creator Justin Roiland was exposed for some very risqué things, leading to him being fired at the start of season seven and replaced by a new lead Character voice actor replaced.
That’s enough to make most shows fail, but Rick and Morty is definitely better. It remains one of the most-watched shows on IMDB and is considered by many to be the undisputed king of modern adult animated comedy. As you can imagine, this means everyone is keen to capitalize on the show’s brilliance – which, like it or not, results in a wealth of merchandise and collectibles available for anyone to purchase.

The game received mixed reviews when it first launched, but the updated version for PSVR has received generally positive reviews from gaming critics across the industry. It received a 7.6 rating from IGN, making it a pretty strong VR game. The biggest problem most people have is that the story is too short! You’ll experience life as a Morty clone, but before you know it, it’s all over.
Pocket Morty
If the last game was arguably the funniest on this list, then Pocket Mortys is the weirdest! When you read the game’s description or watch the game’s trailer, you’ll need to take a moment to decide if it’s real or fake.
First of all, this is a mobile game that you can download on the App Store or Google Play. Secondly, it’s called “Grandson’s Battle for the Multiverse.” You play as Rick, except you’re trapped in a dimension by another Rick, where you discover that collecting Mortys and fighting them against each other is the main goal of living there. It’s a Pokemon style game, except instead of Pokemon, there are over 160 Mortys for you to collect.
This does sound like a joke, but the game is so much fun! It looks like an old Pokemon game with pretty much the same premise. You have turn-based combat, and your Morty can learn different attacks or moves based on your transformation. You can gain experience points and level up by defeating other Mortys. There were even badges to collect – the more we entered, the more charming the game looked. It also looks pretty good, so if you like Pokémon, maybe Pocket Mortys is the game for you.

The last game on this list is the only one that isn’t strictly an adaptation of Rick and Morty. High on Life is developed by Squanch Games, a division of Justin Roiland. As we said before, he created the Rick and Morty TV show, which has been in disrepute lately.
Still, we included this game on our list because it’s inspired by Rick and Morty in many ways. In the game, you’re a mercenary hunting down aliens interested in humans – which sounds like an episode of Rick and Morty. Here’s the thing; your guns talk to you, and they sound almost exactly like Rick and Morty.
The game received…should we say “mixed” reviews upon launch? IGN gave it an 8 out of 10, but many others also gave it one star. Kotaku seems to highlight that the biggest problem with the game is the ongoing dialogue. Gunslinger and other NPCs never seem to shut up. It’s probably not worth playing, but we’re adding it here because it’s the only game inspired by Rick and Morty. Honestly, we’re surprised there aren’t more video games based on the series! It feels like it would be perfect for an action-adventure style game or even more mobile games. Maybe we’ll see more in the future – or if board games are more your style, we know there are plenty of games out there with a Rick and Morty theme!
