Taylor Swift collaborates with Shaboozey
If any two artists at UBS Arena know a thing or two about country-pop crossover success, their names are Taylor Swift and Shaboozey.
Both were nominated for multiple awards at this year’s ceremony and even competed in one category. Ultimately, Swift’s Post Malone-featuring “Fortnight” beat Shaboozey’s Billboard Hot 100 hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” to become the anthem of the summer moon man.
When the two stars met during a commercial break, Swift whispered something into Buz’s ear while photographers rushed to capture the moment. We don’t know exactly what the two were talking about yet, but here’s hoping there’s some sort of collaboration on the horizon!

Fan reception cements Katy Perry’s legacy at Vanguard Medley
Sure, Katy Perry found some time to promote her new record, but her “Video Vanguard” medley was no shortage of hits. From “Teenage Dream” and “California Gurls” to “ET” and “Dark Horse,” the night’s biggest honoree ran through her Hot 100 chart-topping songs one by one, but there was one song in particular that got a huge response from the audience.
When Katie sang the “boomoomboom” lyrics at the end of “Firework,” nearly everyone in the audience raised their hands and struck the first note in rhythm with each repetition, a move that almost felt innate. It’s like it was just an automatic reaction to hearing the lyrics, as the song has become a classic for multiple generations. Regardless of the audience’s opinion of the medley, or even Katie herself, nothing can replace the overwhelming joy in the room when “Fireworks” hits.

Lil Nas X and Teddy Swim Stan Benson Boone
Benson Boone delivered one of the most dazzling performances of the night with his backflip-laden “Beautiful Things” (No. 2), which became his first Hot 100 hit earlier this year Top five songs. Before Boone jumped on the piano and showed off his bejeweled royal blue jumpsuit, the two male pop stars gave him a warm welcome when Maneskin’s Damiano announced him as the next performer support.
Lil Nas When the song’s closing lyrics were spoken, the entire audience followed suit.

“BBL Drizzy” attracted the attention of the audience
The culture-shifting battle between Kendrick Lamar and Drake and their attendant feuds have certainly dominated the music landscape this year, so hear one of the tracks from those battles It’s to be expected. A little less predictable, however, was the song choice that house DJs loved: Metro Boomin’s fun “BBL Drizzy” beat.
Although both Lamar and Drake were nominated for this year’s awards show, the former won Song of the Year and Song of the Summer (“Not Like Us”), while the latter won Best Collaboration and Best Hip-Hop Song (“Rich Baby Daddy” ). Instead, the DJ belted out “BBL Drizzy,” a song that was (more) predictable and elicited laughs, head shakes, and sing-alongs from the crowd—another reminder of the collective joy of an old-school clown show.
Of course, given that Lamar was announced to headline the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show and Just hours before the VMAs, he posted a new song on Instagram, and “BBL Drizzy” is one of the more interesting song choices.
