Last week, CBS unveiled its midseason schedule, and now Fox is following suit with a slew of news that’s sure to please some fans and anger others.
First the good news: Hell’s Kitchen returns on January 2, followed by the Season 3 premiere of Animal Control and the series premiere of Denis Leary’s new comedy Dutchman .
The next day, Kitchen Nightmares returns, along with the series premiere of new medical drama The Doctors .
We’ll have to wait until January 20 to see any more returning shows, as 9-1-1 Lone Star and Rescue: HI-Surf will both resume their seasons in their usual time slots.
For Lone Star, the return would be short-lived. Fox announced today that the show will end on February 3.
Lone Star was officially canceled in September ahead of its fifth season premiere.
The news wasn’t entirely unexpected, but fans were holding out hope for a moratorium. Now it seems those dreams have been dashed.
The following Sunday, February’s Super Bowl LIX will air on Fox.
This important game will bring good news to Rob Lowe fans who may still be reeling from the loss of their Strand captain.
While the network initially scheduled an episode of HI-Surf for the coveted post-game slot, they later made a call to talkies.
Now, a new episode of Lowe’s game show “The Floor” will air then.
To the dismay of many fans, today’s announcement contained no news about The Cleaning Lady and Alert: Missing Persons Unit.
TV Line reports that the two shows will Returning in 2025.
But right now, we don’t know when that will be. Presumably they will arrive sometime in early spring.
Both shows ended their previous seasons in May, so they faced lengthy hiatus.
But hey, a lack of news about their respective returns is certainly better than an announcement of cancellation!
