The daily roundup you listen to here is a slice of reality. Steve Podcast. I am your reality host. Steve. Thanks everyone for tuning in to Friday’s Daily Roundup podcast. When Devin finally spoke, he posted an Instagram story yesterday. We’re going to review what he said and then part ways.
His Instagram Stories. And then I have an exclusive here. Remember on Monday, when I reported this story, I also showed screenshots of Dema Devin’s homophobic slurs that he sent to a person with knowledge of the situation. Well, that person has posted on his social media in response to what Devin posted yesterday.
I was able to screenshot it. I’ll put it on my Instagram story later, but when I read it to you, you’ll see it here first. We’ll get to all this later. OK Let’s get started. Devonstrator posted his story on Instagram yesterday, deciding of course to issue a statement regarding what I reported earlier this week.
He said this from the beginning. Whenever I had a question about something he said we would stop and after my single period there were so many stories and distortions in the media that I wanted to take a moment to address them. I would like to apologize for the video I posted after the last episode.
I’m not proud of my lapse in judgment. Devin, you posted a 13 minute video of a private sexual conversation Jen sent you, then you deleted it and then put it back up again, just minus the sex part. Then deleted it again. This was not a mistake in judgment. You know, misjudgment is if you run a red light, if you turn onto a one-way street and go the wrong way, if you forget to lock your door, misjudgment, you create a 13-minute video that is poorly edited.
I might add, but you edited a 13 minute video to sound good and look good in your eyes. This was not a mistake in judgment. So spare me. He then went on to say, I’m really grateful for the time I spent on the show and the opportunity to get to know and love Jean. I certainly regret hurting her in any way.
She is a very special person and I wish her nothing but the best. any. He went on to say, Recently, I’ve encountered some challenges from my past lows that have been brought up and grossly misunderstood. These accusations are simply untrue. Because I have never inappropriately laid hands on others or treated my ex-girlfriend in any of the ways that I have described.
So what he’s saying is that his ex lied on the police report and nothing she wrote was true. He did not reveal any specific details. He just made a generalization and never did anything. Sorry, you have to be more specific. If you want to say, it’s easy to give a generalization, like, no, never done that.
Really? We should take your word for it because you are honest with everyone. Since you’ve been on the show, he went on to say, the restraining order has never been granted and has been dismissed outright. You see, this is a big problem that a lot of people have. Even electronic warfare. com wrote a story about this yesterday.
The headline of the report was that Devon Straighter falsely claimed in a statement posted on Instagram that X did not have a restraining order against him. The disgraced Bachelorette contestant said the restraining order was only cited and was never granted. Yesterday, I made this my response on Instagram, my Instagram story was a response to Devin.
Basically what I said ended up being true. He hides behind semantics. We have a signed restraining order, a temporary restraining order. He entered the order on March 22, 2017, signed by an East Baton Rouge Family Court judge, and extended it less than a month later on April 11.
So, what he’s basically saying is, because there’s no permanent restraining order, that’s why he’s trying to evade, um, the restraining order was never granted. No, permanent permanent residence was never granted. However, permanent permanent residence was never granted as the predecessor never continued to do so. She decided she didn’t want a felony on his record.
In return she basically just said, leave me alone, I’m not filing this. I don’t want this to go on your record. The two parties agreed to call him 36 Oh. Far from order. His lawyer told Entertainment Weekly yesterday that the petitioner filed an application for protection with the court, seeking protection based purely on unsubstantiated written allegations in the affidavit and nothing more.
Out of an abundance of caution, the judge issued a temporary restraining order until Devon was served with charges that he could respond to at a court hearing. On the day of the hearing, the petitioner has the option of a full hearing before a judge but decides not to apply for a full restraining order and agrees to a mutual stay away order whereby the parties agree not to contact each other for a period of time.
Expires in six months. It was also agreed that both parties would pay half of the court costs. Yeah, she doesn’t want to pursue it, but Devin is basically trying to manipulate the situation in this statement because he’s saying, hey guys, the restraining order was never granted and was dismissed outright. Well, permanently.
She was fired because she never moved forward. If she goes to court and fights for permanent residency, the judge just doesn’t believe her. The judge just said, you know what, you’re not granted that right. I thought he would have a leg to stand on, but that’s not the case. Sitting there saying that the restraining order was never granted but was temporary, he kind of forgot about that part.
The point is you shouldn’t be on this show at all. How difficult is it to understand when you have a restraining order against you? Why did he never mention this in his statement? He then went on to say, My ex-girlfriend from college and I eventually reconciled and ended our relationship on good terms. This was the first time I fell in love and I learned a lot from our relationship, which was great for both parties. It’s all a growing experience.
I mean, it’s completely misleading, almost gaslighting. He basically wanted to tell the audience, hey, because we admitted that the other stuff wasn’t true or if she was able to reconcile with me, you shouldn’t take the other stuff seriously because a lot of people emailed me afterwards.
Steve, you look at the statistics on abused women. It usually takes an average of seven times before a woman leaves. So Devin is basically trying to downplay what actually happened in the original restraining order, saying she did it after the fact. So you guys. What are you doing here to be angry with me?
She seemed cool about it. His statement yesterday was completely misleading. Come on now. It was the first time I fell in love and learned so much from our relationship. So, again he tried to tell us, hey, I’m new. That’s why I act the way Devin does, that’s no excuse.
You are trying to downplay what we now know was in the original restraining order, let alone what was in the arrest warrant’s affidavit regarding your actions in breaking into her residence when she was not present. I mean, it’s just, it’s so embarrassing. It’s like this guy doesn’t understand the gravity of what’s going on here.
He obviously doesn’t know, otherwise he wouldn’t have written such an article yesterday. The last paragraph, I know I have made mistakes in my life. I’m not perfect. Devin, none of us are perfect. You say that doesn’t make people go away, oh, he admits the mistakes in his life, he’s not perfect. Oh, I forgive him completely.
Well Devin, none of us are perfect. We all make mistakes. This doesn’t tell me anything. I mean, it’s not like he’s downplaying what he did. A mistake. Constantly harassing your ex-girlfriend is not a mistake. This is actually an act of abuse. Again, leaving your iron on before going out is a bad idea.
When leaving, I forgot to turn off the stove. This is a mistake. This is ongoing abuse. I continue to work every day to be around people and be a person that makes my family and friends proud. I’m really grateful to everyone who has been there for me. Yes. Yes, some of them shocked me.
Tell them by the way that they are annoying. This is his statement. Obviously, there are a lot of problems with this. I just, I look back on it a lot right there. There are a few things you must know about temporary restraining orders. I know the burden of proof is very low.
Most of them, like a lot of people who email me, especially those who email me. Research domestic violence cases and handle domestic violence cases personally. Yes, the burden of proof is very low and most TROs are awarded to women like his ex. That doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Just because she doesn’t have to prove anything and it’s her word, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
You saw what she said. You saw what the police said. Did the police make this all up? Did the police just make this all up in a sworn statement? No, he didn’t. And this whole thing about reconciliation, he wanted to throw it out there again and we reconciled, so obviously it wasn’t a big deal to her.
But this couldn’t be further from the truth. This is a very, very bad statement on his part. Incidentally, he also hired a PR team to help him do this. I don’t know how much that PR team gets paid, but I hope yes, I hope they do that for free because Devin even paid the company 13 cents on the dollar.
He should probably fire them. Plan to take a rest here. When we get back I will read the statement that appeared on X’s friend’s social media account last night. This is a podcast brought to you by Mint Mobile. You know, I love him as much as anyone else. When the mint phone came to me.
