Chris Hansen turns furious over his portrayal in upcoming movie ‘Primetime’
Chris Hansen hints at taking strong action ahead of ‘Primetime’ release

Chris Hansen is looking forward to taking legal action against the forthcoming movie Primetime.
For those unaware, the 66-year-old American television presenter, journalist, and YouTube personality claimed that he was informed of the movie after the finalization of production. When he showed his frustration that he was kept in dark about his own representation in the <a href="https://cinemamix360.com/2026/08/28/back-to-film-school-7-ways-to-kick/” title=”Back to Film School: 7 Ways to Kick”>film, studio representatives told him his authorization was not needed, explaining that it is a fictionalized account.
While conversing on SiriusXM’s The Dan Abrams Show, Hansen opened up about legal action plans, saying, “People are looking at it.”
He quipped, “I don’t know. One guy told me, somebody who’s very, very good at all this and very entrenched in entertainment law, he said, ‘You know, you can do that, and you probably have a decent case. How much time do you want to spend doing it?’”
“And the thought process here is that, if you protest it too much, do they turn it into a promotional situation where, ‘this is the movie Chris Hansen doesn’t want you to see.’ Well, in reality, it’s the movie Chris Hansen hasn’t even seen yet, so it’s a hard question to answer,” the Killer Instinct star stated.
Reflecting on “ethical” issues with the use of his name and his colleagues, Hansen said, “It feels very exploitive to me.”
“It feels sneaky and disingenuous to me that they would do this and not even say, ‘This is what we’re doing,’” he noted.
It is pertinent to mention that that Robert Pattinson is portraying Chris Hansen in the upcoming film Primetime, which is scheduled to be released on September 25, 2026. Watch the trailer here.
