The upcomingMedalist film has gotten a teaser trailer and teaser visual, as well as a February 19 release date.
The movie, which is arriving after two TV seasons, sees protagonist Inori Yuitsuka facing rival Hikaru Kamisaki at the All-Japan Novice Championships. An ultra teaser trailer and ultra teaser visual were shown in March,
Medalist is based on the Kodansha-published figure skating manga by Tsurumaikada. The anime’s synopsis reads:
Tsukasa Akeuraji, a frustrated skater, meets a girl called Inori Yuitsuka, who is yearning to enter the world of figure skating. Motivated by Inori’s obsession on the rink, Tsukasa takes on coaching Inori himself. Inori’s talent blossoms, and Tsukasa becomes a brilliant mentor. Together they aim to make her a glorious medalist!!
The first season of Medalistaired during the Winter 2025 anime season, while the second debuted in January 2026 and ended with nine episodes. Disney+ (Hulu in the US) streams the show.
The Medalist manga started serialization in the seinen magazine Monthly Afternoon in 2020 and has 15 volumes as of July 2026. Kodansha USA publishes it in English.
