Kelly Clarkson may be unique as a singer, but even she’s nervous about following in Céline Dion’s footsteps.

Dion’s original hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1998, and Clarkson admirably imitated the Canadian superstar singer, using her understated intro to lead to the bombastic finale—and the crucial Changes and more.
Clarkson wore a magenta turtleneck pant suit and made a subtle statement during the performance Titanic Nod with her jewelry: Her sapphire-blue ring—which can be seen on her hand clasping the microphone—reminiscent of the Heart of the Ocean diamond necklace that plays a central role in the film.
After the show, Clarkson gushed about Dion to the audience. “She is truly an incredible talent. Her performance at the Olympics was one of the highlights of my summer, it was fantastic.
She also explained her reasoning for tackling a seemingly untouchable song. “Normally I would never cover that song because there are some songs that you don’t want to be close to as a singer,” Clarkson said. “But there’s a reason why I’m doing this today.” The reason: Her guest on Friday’s episode is Titanic Star Kate Winslet.
