The Italian coffee roaster first sponsored the Toronto International Film Festival as Official Coffee Partner in 2023

Lavazza has signed a new multi-year partnership with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), one of the largest and most prestigious film festivals in the world.

The Italian coffee roaster became the festival’s Official Coffee Partner in 2023 – a sponsorship deal that has now been extended until 2028. Lavazza has also been named as TIFF’s Gala Presenting Partner, which will see it operate a branded coffee bar on the TIFF red carpet for the first time during this year’s festival.

The 2026 TIFF, which takes place from 10-20 September 2026, will also see Lavazza operate pop-ups at several high-footfall venues in Toronto, including the Toronto Metro Convention Centre, David Pecaut Square and Toronto’s Union Station.

“TIFF is one of the world’s most renowned film festivals, making our addition of the Gala Presenting Partner role an exciting milestone for Lavazza in Canada. TIFF gives us a powerful platform with deep local relevance, allowing us to connect with consumers in meaningful ways both during the festival and beyond,” said Daniele Foti, VP of Marketing, Lavazza North America.

Founded in Turin in 1895, Lavazza Group is one of the world’s largest coffee roasters, with a presence in over 140 markets. The group achieved 16% year-on-year revenue growth to reach €3.9bn ($4.48bn) in 2025, with net profit up 12% at €92m ($105m).

In May 2026, Lavazza CEO Antonio Baravalle outlined a goal to increase annual revenues to €5bn ($5.95bn) within the next few years, with approximately 20% generated in North America.

Culture and sports partnerships are a key pillar of Lavazza’s brand-building strategy.

The coffee roaster sponsors the Wimbledon, Roland-Garros, US Open, Rolex Shanghai Masters, Mutua Madrid Open and Italian Open tennis tournaments. Other high-profile sporting partnerships include the Formula 1 Australia Grand Prix, the UK’s Royal Ascot and football club supply deals with Arsenal Football Club, Juventus and Ajax.

Non-sporting tie-ups include the World’s 50 Best Hotels awards ceremony, luxury supercar brand Lamborghini and Venice-based art museum Peggy Guggenheim Collection.
