Ridley Scott is helping to develop a series of three graphic novels, with Machine Cake titled Modwell, Hydeand gap. It was explained that “Scott will bring his meticulous eye and unparalleled world-building skills to these projects.”
Modwell is a science fiction/Southern Gothic crime drama involving artificially intelligent humans (“mods”) in future New Orleans.

gap is a basic Christmas war story steeped in mysterious Norse lore.
“Mechanical Cake is an amazing company. They understand the art of graphic novels,” Scott said in a statement. “As an artist and painter, these projects are exciting to me, and I look forward to working with Jesse, Tom, Dave, and the Mechanical Cake team.”
