Sony Music Publishing has named Caroline Elleray vice president of creative, songwriter services, effective immediately.
As vice president of creative, songwriter services, Elleray will be responsible for leading and advancing SMP’s services efforts on behalf of the company’s songwriters and catalogues.
SMP said Elleray will also work closely with the company’s global creative teams to identify new opportunities for “collaboration and growth.”
Elleray will be based in SMP’s London office and will report to SMP UK joint managing director Tim Major and SMP UK president and joint managing director and international senior vice president David Ventura.
Caroline Elleray is a highly respected music publisher with over twenty years’ experience.
She has discovered and developed some of the most influential artists and songwriters in modern music, with previous signings including Coldplay, Keane, Rex Orange County, Mumford & Sons, Laura Mvula, Feist, Little Simz, Bastille and many more.
Elleray joined in 1997 after previously working in the A&R departments of UMPG and BMG.
In 2017, she received the prestigious MBW Sir George Martin Award, which recognizes excellence in the A&R field.
Elle Ray continues to run Second Song with her new role.
Launched in 2022 with Mark Gale, Second Songs Publishing and Management is a joint venture with SMP UK, whose talent roster includes two-time Ivor Novello Award winner Victoria Canal, songwriter Matt Hales (Olivia Dean, Lianne La Havas) and Dan Green (Coldplay).
