Bauer Media’s Bauer Academy has unveiled Amplify, a new early careers apprenticeship programme that will bring 16 apprentices into Bauer Media UK across content, communications, finance and data, creating new routes into careers in media.
The launch comes at a time when many young people across the UK face increasing barriers to employment, with Bauer Media investing in new pathways that provide opportunities to learn, develop and build long-term careers.
Amplify is designed to create access and opportunity at entry level for the next generation of talent to launch their careers from within one of the world’s largest and most influential media companies. Rather than focusing on previous experience, Amplify is anchored around potential, raw capabilities and future skills. Its assessment centres are designed to identify the strengths and potential that can be nurtured and developed into the talent needed for the future.
Combining paid employment with structured learning, mentoring and on-the-job experience, the programme will help apprentices build the skills needed for long-term careers at Bauer Media and across the wider media industry.
Amplify forms part of Bauer Academy’s broader commitment to building diverse talent pipelines and ensuring more people can access careers in media, regardless of background or previous experience.
Courtnay McLeod, Managing Director, Bauer Academy, said: “Amplify is a prime example of where talent meets opportunity. It has been designed to give people entering the media sector the genuine development, care and support they need to grow, succeed and feel they belong. As our first step in creating dedicated talent pathways within Bauer Media, this programme reflects our commitment to opening doors and helping the next generation build meaningful careers in media.”
Elaine Bremner, Global HR Director, Bauer Media Audio, said: “Amplify is an important investment in the future of our business and our industry. By creating accessible, no-experience-required routes into Bauer Media, we are opening the door to young people with different backgrounds, perspectives and potential. For our business, that means building the diverse skills, ideas and talent pipeline we need for the future. For our apprentices, it means the chance to learn, grow and launch meaningful careers in media with the support of one of the world’s leading audio and media companies.”
Throughout the programme, apprentices will work alongside experienced colleagues while receiving development, coaching and support to help them succeed throughout their apprenticeship and beyond.
