All of Emily Blunt’s Upcoming Movies In 2027 and Beyond
2026 has been a strong year for Emily Blunt, and she’s still got a handful of very exciting projects on the horizon.
This year, Blunt returned to the role of Emily for The Devil Wears Prada 2, 20 years after first playing the iconic fashionista. Then, she joined forces with the legendary Steven Spielberg for his latest alien flick, Disclosure Day. While some were disappointed with that movie, it has to be said that Blunt’s performance was one of the strongest facets of the whole production.
Coming up for Blunt, there are a couple of sequels, a romantic drama, and a collaboration with Martin Scorsese that will see her link-up with Leonardo DiCaprio and Dwayne Johnson for a crime story set in Hawaii.
Here, we take a closer look at all the upcoming Emily Blunt movies.
Walk the Blue Fields
While there is no release date at the moment, we suspect the first film to see the light of day for Blunt will be Walk the Blue Fields, a romantic drama that’s currently in post-production. It sees Blunt playing a woman who is about to get married, until a former lover returns to her life and presents her with a difficult decision on her wedding day.
A Quiet Place Part III
Blunt is currently filming A Quiet Place Part III, with her husband, John Krasinski in the director’s chair, and Cillian Murphy returning. They’ll be joined by Jack O’Connell, who is expected to play the villain (something he is clearly very good at, after what we saw him do in Sinners), as well as Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds who reprise their roles as Marcus and Regan Abbott, and new faces in the form of Jason Clarke and Katy O’Brian.
Little is known about the plot for this one, apart from the fact that it’s a direct follow-up to A Quiet Place Part II. There’s a release date, though, with the film set to arrive in theatres on July 30, 2027.
Untitled Hawaii-Set Crime Drama
There may be no title for this one just yet, but it’s probably the most intriguing project on Blunt’s slate at the moment. The Martin Scorsese film will take us back to 1970s Hawaii for a story of a local crime boss whose rise to power has him fighting to protect his land as outsiders close in. Roles haven’t been confirmed yet, but we would suspect Dwayne Johnson is playing said crime boss, with Leonardo DiCaprio is the one threatening to take it all away.
Blunt’s role is harder to pin down, but we’re sure she’ll be formidable, as always. The project is only in pre-production at present, with Scorsese tying up the loose ends on his next movie, What Happens At Night, which is due for release in 2027 at some point.
Edge of Tomorrow 2
Now, this one is far more speculative and uncertain, but it is widely believed that Edge of Tomorrow 2 is happening, and that Blunt will return as Rita. The production status of the long-awaited sequel is unknown at this point, though it is a concept which is very much alive in the minds of Warner Bros. chiefs.
Edge of Tomorrow has grown in popularity over the years, and fans would kill to see Tom Cruise and Blunt team-up to take down more alien invaders in another time-loop action romp. It’s thought Blunt is keen to reprise her role, but she has admitted in the past that the project might just be too expensive to get the go ahead. Hopefully this one does happen, but it may just have to remain a pipedream.
