Netflix 2024 Rebel Ridge The bad cop vs. “good guy” theme is provided, and it’s surprisingly good. There’s nothing too new here, though, so don’t get your hopes up.
Writer-director Jeremy Saulnier gives us a tale of small-town corruption that is so entertaining that it almost borders on the absurd at times. This is a plot centered around a bad cop who robs a suspect. This slightly more complicated plan is to pay for their services in bankruptcy
However, in the final confrontation, there were too many patrol cars and officers to support the idea of a bankrupt police department.
story

Local police soon discovered that they had grossly misjudged Richmond. A Marine has been featured online for his martial arts skills.

The film’s title comes from a historical location on a local map. Initially, it seemed like this was where the final confrontation would take place. The final battle ends up at police headquarters and on the road.

Designed for a TV feel
Rebel Ridge is a solid movie. However, it does feel like a budget Rambo. It’s also affected by what I call the “A-Team Effect.” *TV show, not Liam Neeson movie. These often violent but non-lethal shows are almost the norm for “family friendly” programming.
In these shows, guns never need to be reloaded and no one dies from gunshot wounds. A line in Rebel Ridge Getting ready for our A-Team finals. “Less lethal,” Chief Byrne said, and he meant it.
Richmond uses a variety of weapons in the film to disarm and eliminate bad cops. None of these are fatal. And, amazingly, no one fired any shots except the police. *There is a beanbag shotgun shot where Richmond pulls the trigger and he uses a taser, but that’s about it.
judgment
Rebel Ridge not bad. I give it a rocking 3.5 stars. There are a few things that feel a bit complicated. The whole thing worked because of the performances. Pierre, a last-minute replacement for John Boyega, killed it here. Don Johnson, after all; Don Johnson knocked this one out of the park, too. Ms. Rob did a great job too.
In fact, all the actors put their all into the characters they played. Despite the “PG-13” seal of approval, this movie is a film worth enjoying. Of course, it’s available to stream on Netflix.
