The trade body for British VFX, post, and animation to hold first business summit in Soho, London, premiering new data on the VFX tax credit uplift and UK VFX spend, with speakers from Sohonet, Cinesite, Milk, Harbor, and Netflix.
UK Screen Alliance has launched INsight ’26: The Post-Production and VFX Business Conference, a one-day event for senior leaders across post-production and VFX, taking place Thursday, October 8 at the Courthouse Hotel in Soho, London.
The trade association for VFX, post-production, animation, and TV and film studios in the UK, has 200 member employers; INsight ’26 is its first conference, and it sets out to look past tools and technology at the business realities of the sector: production activity, VFX spend, workforce trends, and business performance.
The session “Finding the Growth: What is the data telling us?” will premiere new UK Screen Alliance-commissioned data on the impact of the UK’s VFX tax credit uplift, confirmed in October 2024, current UK VFX spend, growth, and gross value added, alongside World VFX Atlas data on global workforce trends. Other sessions include “Recognising the Value of Post,” on how post houses can rethink their bids; “Integrating AI: Practicality over hype,” on where AI is delivering time and cost savings today; “Fix it or Risk it! Content Security in the Age of AI,” on emerging cyber threats; and “How Green is Your Facility?,” on the sustainability challenges specific to post facilities.
Speakers include Chuck Parker, CEO of Sohonet; Terri Davies, president of the Trusted Partner Network; Joseph Bell, author of the World VFX Atlas; Charly Conquest, responsible productions lead at Sky Entertainment Group; Saint John Walker of the University of Hertfordshire; Gareth Kirkman of the British Film Commission; Dan Marbrook, chief commercial officer and director of production at The Look; Hayley Miller, founder of World VFX Day; Andy McNamara, generative AI lead at Cinesite; Alethea Lindsay of Cut the Carbon; Steve MacPherson, chief technology officer at Milk Visual Effects; Thom Berryman, managing director, feature and episodic UK, at Harbor Picture Company; and Matt Town, head of post-production UK at Netflix.
“We know that these are difficult times, and when making critical decisions, you need to know all the facts about where the market is going in order to make the right choices for your business,” said UK Screen Alliance CEO Neil Hatton. “INsight’26 will not pull its punches as it analyzes the many factors impacting VFX and post companies today.”
Early bird tickets have sold out; general admission tickets remain available and include refreshments, lunch, and the networking drinks reception. Sohonet, farmerswife, Cirkus, Tysers, and AIMICI support the event.
