Sean “Diddy” Combs’ mother, Janice Combs, has released a statement on behalf of the Combs family in response to ongoing sex crime accusations against the music mogul.

Combs was charged by federal prosecutors with racketeering and sex trafficking in mid-September and was denied bail.

In a statement released on Sunday (October 6) through attorney Natlie G. Figgers, obtained hollywood reporterCombs’ mother said Diddy was not guilty of the charges against him: “My son is not the monster they portray him to be and he deserves the opportunity to speak his side.”

“It breaks my heart to see my son being judged not for the truth but for a lie,” she wrote in the statement. Five days ago, it was reported that Diddy would face an additional 120 accusers over the alleged incident. litigation. [to] It seems unspeakably painful that my son was publicly lynched before he had a chance to prove his innocence. Like everyone, my son deserves to have his day in court to finally be on his side and prove his innocence.

The indictment, unsealed on September 17, states that “for decades, Sean Combs … abused, threatened and coerced the women and others around him to satisfy his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his Behavior. To do this, Coombs relies on the employees, resources and influence of the diverse business empire he leads and controls.

Coombs was denied bail. If convicted, he faces a minimum of 15 years in prison and a maximum of life in prison.

On Sunday, his mother said: “I’m not here to paint my son as perfect, because he’s not perfect. He’s made mistakes in the past, and we all make mistakes.

She pointed to a lawsuit filed last year by singer and ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who accused Combs of rape and abuse. Combs denied her accusations but apologized when video surfaced of him physically assaulting her at a hotel.

“My son may not have been completely honest about certain things, such as denying that he was violent to his ex-girlfriend, but hotel surveillance showed otherwise,” Janice Combs said in a statement. “Sometimes, truth and lies are so closely intertwined that admitting part of the story becomes scary, especially when the truth transcends the norm or is too complicated to be true. That’s why I believe my son’s The civil legal team chose to settle the ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit rather than argue it all the way to the end, causing the federal government to use this decision against my son, construing it as a guilty plea, creating a backlash effect.

She said that did not mean he was guilty of the multiple “sickening accusations and serious accusations leveled against him”.

“Many people who are wrongfully convicted and later acquitted are deprived of their liberty not because they are guilty of the crime they are accused of, but because they do not fit society’s image of a ‘good guy.’ History shows us how individuals How to be wrongfully convicted for past actions or mistakes,” she said.

She added: “It is truly painful to see the world so quickly and easily turn against my son based on lies and misunderstandings without ever hearing his side of the story or giving him a chance to express his side.”

“These lies against him are motivated by those seeking financial gain, not justice,” the statement read. “These individuals saw how quickly my son’s civil legal team resolved his ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit, so they Believing that false accusations of sexual assault would get a quick payday prevented real victims of sexual violence from getting the justice they deserve. To make matters worse, the federal government is now using these lies to prosecute my son. This unfair treatment is unbearable for our family. The worst part of this ordeal is watching my beloved son be stripped of his dignity, not because of anything he did, but because people chose to believe him.
