Nora Fatehi, a multicultural artist fluent in English, Hindi, French and Moroccan Arabic, discusses her unique fusion of musical style and dance. She talks about her journey from Toronto to Bollywood, her collaborations with Jason Derulo and CK, 2025 tour plans, and more!
Nora Fatehi:
Hi, I’m Nora Fatehi and you’re watching Billboard News. So I think what makes me different as an artist is not just that I’m from India, not Indian, not Moroccan, but Canadian. I have these three identities that make my brand Nora Fatehi a unique artist. Many people from all over the world can relate to me and see a little bit of themselves in me. I think because I grew up in Toronto, I was exposed to different styles of music like dancehall, African, Bollywood, Arabic, hip-hop. I absorb it all and infuse it into my art. I also made sure the dance styles were very diverse. So in some videos, you might see us doing afro hair. In some other videos you might see us belly dancing. You may see us strictly following Bollywood dance styles. But I make sure that in the music that I put out, I also make sure that visually the dance styles are very diverse. While doing this, I gained a huge, massive, diverse following of fans who fell in love with the types of moves, hooks, and choreography that I did. I noticed on social media that people would dance to the music I put out and imitate the hook step. I thought, “Oh my gosh, let me create a platform for them on social media.”
Stay tuned for more!
