Stevie Nicks makes a triumphant return saturday night live.
On October 12, the iconic Fleetwood Mac frontman performed on NBC’s long-running sketch comedy show hosted by Ariana Grande for the first time in 41 years.
Dressed in his usual all-black ensemble, the 76-year-old singer-songwriter opened the show with a powerful new song, “Lighthouse,” which was inspired by the overturn of Roe v. Wade. Backed by a full orchestra, Nicks performed the intense song against a dark backdrop with crackling lightning effects.
“I’ve got my scars, you’ve got yours/Don’t let them take away your power,” she sings with masterful restraint, the verse leading into a vibrant chorus that urges listeners to “see the future and go crazy.”
Nicks followed up with the equally impressive classic “Edge of Seventeen,” the third single from her 1981 debut solo album. pretty Woman. Again with the help of her band and backing singers, the legendary artist delivered a thrilling performance of the song, which peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. pretty WomanMeanwhile, the Billboard 200 topped the charts, staying on the chart for a staggering 143 weeks.
