The EnergaCamerimage International Film Festival has announced the first batch of films selected for the 2024 Main Competition – three aesthetic adventure stories about women.
Selected works include Jacques Audiard’s Cannes Jury Prize winner emilia perezArt Theater by Magnus von Horn girl holding needleand Rachel Morrison’s boxing biopic Fire inside. Camerimage organizers will announce the remainder of this year’s competition in the coming days, which usually totals about a dozen films.
As previously announced, this year’s Photography and Imagery Competition will be assessed by a panel of judges led by Jury President, two-time Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett.

The film reaches its devastating climax by turning the child over to an evil woman (played by the great Trina DeHome) who runs a backstreet adoption agency.
Author: Barry Jenkins (moonlight), fire inside is the directorial debut of cinematographer Rachel Morrison. Camerimage Film Festival 2024 kicks off November 16 with screening of Steve McQueen’s World War II epic blitzkrieg. Other announced highlights include special honors general Stars Hiroyuki Sanada and Alec Baldwin’s indie western world premiere rust. A special panel discussion will follow rustIt was screened for the first time in memory of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who tragically died in an on-set accident during filming. As we all know, Camerimage specializes in the achievement of the art of cinematography. Blanchett and her fellow jurors will announce the winner of the festival’s Golden Frog Award at a ceremony on November 23.
