It was an exciting Billboard Latin Power Players event, with CEO of the Year George Prajin and his star artist Peso Pluma both delivering heartfelt messages that touched on resilience, friendship and faith that overcome all odds.
“I love you like Father George,” said Peso Prama, who surprised Plakin by presenting him with the award at the Super Players Celebration in Miami’s Casa Dona.

Prajin is a Latin music veteran who began his career at his father’s one-stop publishing company in Los Angeles and now not only manages Peso Pluma, but is also a partner at Double P Records and the principal of Prajin Parlay. .
“I achieved a dream that I never thought I would achieve,” he said. “I stand up today because of you,” he added, pointing to Peso Pluma. “I share this award with you. We are doing this together. Mexican regional music has always been one of the most profitable genres but is often overlooked. I am very proud to receive this award on behalf of this genre.
Prajin went on to thank numerous people, including his roster of artists (including Tito Double P and Jasiel), his staff (including publicist Elina Adut), and other music industry executives and companies including Jimmy Humilde, Richard Bull, The Orchard’s Jason Pascal Del Records released the early hit “Ella Baila Sola” with Eslabón Armado.
While Prajin was the centerpiece of the festivities, the night also recognized the major label and publisher winners of the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards for the first time. Alex Gallardo, president of Sony Music Latin, won Latin Album Label of the Year for Shakira, Marc Anthony and Manuel ·The hometown of Manuel Turizo and others. The label also won Latin Radio Label of the Year; Tropical Music Playback and Album Label of the Year; Latin Pop Music Label of the Year; Mexican Regional Album Label of the Year and Latin Rhythm Radio Label of the Year.
Hot Latin Songs Label of the Year went to Interscope Capitol Labels Group, with hits from Harvey, Ivan Cornejo and Carol G being picked up by Neil Serousi and fellow powerhouse Jose Seder Neo and Manny Prado won.
The Publishing Company of the Year award went to Sony Music Publishing, home of Keating, Shakira and Edgar Barrera, and was picked up by CEO Jorge Mejía.
In addition, the Choice Award was presented to Rebeca León of Lionfish Entertainment, and RImas Entertainment also received a special 10-Year Impact Award, presented by founder and CEO Noah Assad Assad, co-founder Junior Carabaño and Rimas management head Raymond Contreras accepted.
