Hasbro Entertainment launches unscripted TV division, which will be led by newly hired development execs and producers Zach Edwin.

Edwin joins Hasbro from Intellectual Property, part of Sony Pictures Television Nonfiction.

The unscripted division already has several projects in production, as well as projects in development across other networks. Ongoing games include an adaptation of the game show Trivial Pursuit; LeVar Burton and hosted “Scrabble” Raven Simeone.

Both shows were developed in partnership with Lionsgate, with major creative contributions from Hasbro’s Steven Gelberg, and will premiere on The CW on October 3.

In addition, Hasbro is developing television formats involving the Monopoly and Nerf brands, and is working with SPTNF to redesign the board game Clue.

In his new role, Edwin will oversee the expansion of Hasbro’s unscripted business and partnerships with Lionsgate and other talent, studios and distributors.

“Hasbro Entertainment is committed to partnering with the best in the industry to bring our beloved and iconic brands to life,” TV executive Gabriel Marano said in a statement. Grams is perfectly suited to help us build an unscripted division that fits Hasbro’s iconic history and product portfolio.

“He brings a wealth of experience bringing major unscripted projects to the screen for top partners. With multiple major projects on the horizon, we look forward to bringing the worlds they depict to a broad audience as fun and exciting as the ones they depict. Exciting show.

Edwin added: “Hasbro Entertainment is positioned to be a true leader in the unscripted space, leveraging an amazing portfolio of long-standing, globally popular brands to create high-quality content for a global audience.

“I look forward to working with Gabe and the rest of the Hasbro Entertainment team, as well as top partners like Lionsgate and my former colleagues at SPTNF, to seize the tremendous opportunity ahead of us.”
