Fuerza Regida brought a glamorous edge to the stage at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards, channeling their street-mob style in black against a red backdrop. , a bit of reggae.
This San Bernardino-based band boasts a strong roster of talent—vocalist JOP, twelve-string guitarist Samuel Jáimez, rhythm guitarist Khrystian Ramos, tuba player José “Pelón” García and tololoche player Moisés López—per Everyone brings their own talents to the band.
They open with “Your Name,” a no-holds-barred hallway for anyone ready to move on from a previous relationship. JOP delivers the song with raw emotion and passion, telling the story of embracing a wild night and creating new encounters.
The scene took an exciting turn as they moved on to “Nel” from their latest album But don’t fall in love. JOP begins with arresting vocals that build to a captivating crescendo before blending a pulsating Jersey club beat with passionate reggae. During their performance, four female dancers joined a swaying corps of red latex that surrounded Joop.
Earlier in the evening, Fuerza received the award for Hot Latin Song Artist, Duo or Group of the Year. “Nel” and “Tu Name” both broke into the Hot Latin Songs chart at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, with the latter also breaking into the Hot 100 at No. 91.
The 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards also features performances by J Balvin, Niche Group, Pepe Aguilar, Gloria Trevi, Maria Calf, Xavi, Chencho Corleone, Prince Royce, Gabito Crossbowmen, Project One and more.
