SESAC Music Group has acquired HAAWK, a media software and services company specializing in rights management and monetization of independent music, film, television and video catalogs.
HAAWK (which stands for “Help All Assets with Knowledge”) provides “all-inclusive” management services YouTube Content ID System and Facebook Copyright manager platform (including Instagram), and works with multiple record label, publisher and music rights holder clients.
The company also operates a program called Distro and a Micro Sync music licensing platform called Keyframe Audio.
HAAWK will remain headquartered in Los Angeles, run by Ryan Byrnewho founded the company 2017.
HAAWK’s new parent company, SESAC Music Group, has offices in New York, Nashville, Los Angeles, London and Munich and is led by C.E.O. John Josephson.

In January 2017, Blackstone Group acquired SESAC from Rizvi Traverse Management for an amount believed to be close to $1 billion.
