Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) executive vice president Jennifer Knoepfle has been promoted to head of U.S. A&R.
The announcement was made today (October 23) by UMPG Chairman and CEO Jody GersonKnoepfle reports to. Knoepfle will continue to be based at the company’s Santa Monica headquarters and serve as the company’s executive vice president.
UMPG said that with her promotion, Knoepfle will expand the company’s U.S. A&R team and lead its executives in “identifying, signing and developing new and emerging songwriters, artists and producers, as well as creating and delivering legacy talent.” Opportunities to enhance their art” and careers.
Knoepfle will also focus on growing UMPG’s “catalogue of contemporary hits and iconic songs.”

Knopfler signed songwriters, artists, and producers during his tenure, including Jack Antonoff, Lord Huron, Maggie Rogers, and Valos (All of these people follow Knoepfle to UMPG from her previous position at Sony Music Publishing), plus Mark Amber, Lucy Dacus, The Dare, Alex G, Danny L. Hall, David Kushner, Lorde, Dylan Neustadt, Shi Tiffrush, Patrick Wimberly, and Dan Wilson.
She also works closely with UMPG songwriters and artists Gracie Abrams.
Knoepfle joins UMPG after 13 years at Sony Music Publishing, most recently as senior vice president of creative.
While at Sony, she signed and/or developed writers such as Antonoff, Huron, and Rogers, as well as Bloodpop, Aaron Dessner, Joel Little, Dan Nigro, and Ariel Ray Hittscheid.
Artists signed during her time with the company include Leon Bridges, Noah Kahan, King Princess, Tate McRae, Wallows, WILLOW and Remi Wolf.
Prior to joining Sony, Knoepfle served as senior membership director for: ASCAP From 2005 to 2009, brought the Killers and Greg Kurstin into the performing rights organization.
