Now, Penguin show host Lauren LeFrank responded to Turturro’s comments in an interview with The Wrap.
She said: “I have total respect for an actor who doesn’t want to take on a role for personal reasons. I just hope people join our show and they’re excited and want to further the stories we want to tell.
“I think Mark Strong Very well done. He made the character his own and had a lot of respect for what John Turturro did.
She went on to say that, to her knowledge, Turturro did not return “due to scheduling conflicts.”
LeFranc did make some exceptions to Turturro’s allusions: Penguin The depiction of women is more violent than Batman.
She added: “Carmine in the movie killed Selina Kyle’s mother and then actually tried to actively kill Selina and also killed Selina’s friend Annika.
“I think it’s established, and Matt and I agree, that Carmine is a very violent man and violent toward women.”
Eventually, Mark Strong took over the role of Carmine and gave a wonderful performance.
