“Show me the power of darkness again and I won’t let anything stop us…”
Marvel Comics and Lucasfilm have announced a new comic book series titled Star Wars: The Legacy of Vaderand will continue to explore Kylo Ren, because I guess there are fans who are still interested in that villain.
The story “begins with a journey to Mustafar, where Wren will descend on Vader’s castle. Subsequent issues will take Kylo to the familiar sands of Tatooine as he attempts to unlock the secrets of his family’s past.”
The comic will be produced by Charles Soule (Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren and Star Wars: Darth Vader – Dark Sith Lord).
Soule told StarWars.com: “When fans talk to me about my Star Wars work, two of my Marvel comics stand out more than anything else: my 2017 work with Zhu Darth Vader series with Giuseppe Camuncoli and my 2019 series The Rise of Kylo Ren and Will Slaney.
“I think both work well, partly because they’re set in Star Wars The timeline is filled with unanswered questions about characters that audiences actually love. This new series is not only a combination of the two books, but also an opportunity to explore an incredibly rich part of the timeline that’s almost completely open: Kylo Ren’s time as Supreme Leader of the First Order.
“Set between events Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Vader’s Legacy Revisit Kylo’s enduring connection to his grandfather, Imperial enforcer Darth Vader, and further explore how events in Vader’s past guided Kylo’s choices in leading the First Order.
“Kylo was truly lost in this particular moment. In a short period of time, he faced two of his most important mentors (one of whom was his uncle) in battle, killed his own father, and nearly killed Killed his mother, stole control of a galactic-level army he had no idea what he was going to use, and of course, developed a deep bond with another Force user named Rey.
“It all swirls around in his emotional matrix, making him extremely unstable, angry, depressed… dangerous. He’s looking for any kind of guidance – even if he won’t admit it – so he turns to the only thing he has left, That is, the legacy of his grandfather, the Sith Lord Darth Vader.
You can check out a preview of the comic below, which features art by Luke Ross, who co-wrote Star Wars: Darth Vader and Bounty Hunter Battle. I also added cover art Derek Zhou and a variant override Annie Wu.
