Coming of Age movie releases interesting trailer i like movies. It takes place in Canada during the golden age of growing up in the 90s and early 2000s, when we spent our evenings and weekends in video stores and movie theaters.
The plot synopsis is as follows: “Lawrence Kweiler (Isaiah Lehtinen) is a cranky, narcissistic and movie-obsessed teenager living in the wilderness of Burlington, Ontario, Canada in the early 2000s.
“He was the kind of guy who would mention the director’s name when buying a movie ticket, just to show that he was there for the right reasons. He dreamed of attending NYU, where he would be mentored by a grateful Todd Solondz.
“But for Lawrence, who spoke with every word, it was certain that this was more than just a dream: It was locked in—as long as he could make thousands of dollars part-time at Sequels, a local video store, to pay for school.
“Lawrence has bigger problems – and the 10 free video rentals he gets every week on ‘The Sequel’ aren’t going to solve them. His egocentrism threatens to endanger his relationship with his long-time friend and fellow loner Matt Ma. The only true friendship between Chuck (Matt Macarchuk)Percy Hines White), co-star and co-creator of his student short films.
“It became increasingly clear that Lawrence’s obsession with movies (and his inability to tolerate anyone else) was a way of burying a wounded world and avoiding any real connection.”

It seemed like a sweet reminder of my own teenage years. I spent countless hours watching movies on Super Duper Video and Blockbuster. I love a good coming of age story and this one seemed solid.
