2024 movies Charm killer Casting iconic Australian actor Vernon Wells as the “Old Man Killer”. * In my head, the song is set to the tune of “Old Man’s River,” and every time Welles appears on screen, this line runs through my head. So much so that I decided to mention this fact in the opening paragraph of my review.
story
Charm killer There was a leader, Wells, known simply as “The Old Man.” His days are suddenly numbered and he calls on his personal gang of killers to complete one last job. The old man wants to take his final revenge.
A big one.
The reward is a lifetime share of wealth for the survivors.
behind the scenes
Written and directed by Michael Matteo Rossi Charm killer It has a “wild bunch” vibe to it. Similar to the iconic Sam Peckinpah Western, we have a gang performing one last job for their leader. Rossi’s film may not have the same tone, but at least in essence it has a similar relationship to the 1967 Western.
It’s also largely due to those glib movies where all the actors’ characters are unique and have clever nicknames. exist Charm killer Each name reveals the killer’s expertise.
Fabian Montes Sanchez fulfills his duties as cinematographer and film editor brilliantly. There is nothing inappropriate or discordant. In short, the movie looks good.
Jason Scott Jenkins and Paul Logan serve as stunt coordinator and stunt choreographer respectively, providing us with plenty of up-close and personal action to enjoy. Jenkins and Logan also both pull double duty as leads Charm killer “One Hit” from “Hustle” and “Psycho”; also respectively.
Stunts and VFX
Some of the bigger fight scenes are “choppy” but still effective. What seems like an obvious mistake can easily become a dodge in reality. Regardless, the combat goes well and is fast-paced.
The visual effects, especially gunfire and the like, look good. Thanks to Forest Meadows; who played “1911.” Every time he fires his weapon there is recoil. It’s not much, but at least it’s enough to convince us that he’s shooting. This is a problem that most actors have. Especially those who have never fired a real gun themselves.
*In fact, my only real complaint is Charm killer In the final shootout scene, no one seems to be reloading. This unlimited ammo supply is convenient, but it detracts from the overall experience.
main actors

it works
Charm killerThe film is 1 hour and 41 minutes long and does not drag on. This is a fast-paced story with admirable pacing. Well’s, a personal favorite, shows restraint here. His famous “Chewing the Scenery” has been given to Paul Logan to star in “Psycho.”
Welles also narrates the story for much of the film, a restraint that is appreciated and works to the film’s benefit.
*In fact, Rogen’s performance is so exaggerated that it borders on imitation. But, boy, does it work. Although I must admit I do miss Wells’ usual delivery style. Regardless, he still commands any scene he’s in.
Daniel O’Reilly and the rest of the cast in this action flick give us a cast of highly entertaining killers. As mentioned above, visual effects and stunts also contribute to the delivery of the film.
judgment
Charm killer It is a solid action movie with 3.75 stars. The movie will be released tomorrow, November 1, and will be available on most streaming platforms. Apple TV, Google Play, XBox, Fandango at Home and more. Check it out and see what you think.
