The political scene got even more heated this weekend when Cardi B fired back at Elon Musk’s comments about her attending Harris’ presidential campaign rally in Milwaukee on November 1.
The billionaire businessman called the rapper a “puppet,” claiming Cardi was “indoctrinated” while speaking at a rally for Vice President Kamala Harris. Cardi, who is known for her no-holds-barred responses, didn’t back down.
Musk’s comments came after he shared a video clip of Cardi B attending a Democratic rally at the Wisconsin State Fair Center, where she spoke on behalf of the Harris-Walz ticket .
Musk commented in the post’s caption: “Another puppet that can’t speak without being fed. Kamala’s campaign has no authenticity or true empathy.
The Grammy-winning rapper quickly took to X with his own message, refuting Musk’s claims and directly challenging his knowledge of the struggles faced by many Americans.
“I’m not a puppet, Elon,” she wrote. “I’m the daughter of two immigrant parents who had to work their butts off to support me! I’m a product of welfare, I’m a product of Title 8, I’m a product of poverty, I’m a product of what happens when the system targets you The product of that, she added pointedly, “But you don’t know anything about it. You don’t know anything about America’s struggle.
She ended her answer in typical Cardi fashion: “PS fix my algorithm.”
Cardi’s speech at the rally lasted about ten minutes and emphasized her reasons for supporting Harris and her frustrations with Trump’s policies, particularly regarding women’s rights and economic inequality.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life,” Cardi told the crowd while reading on her phone after problems with her teleprompter. “I take seriously the call to show up, speak out, and share a message that has been in my heart for some time.”
She continued, “Like Kamala Harris, I have been the underdog, undervalued, and my successes belittled. Women have to work ten times harder but still face the question of how to succeed. I Can’t stand bullies, but like Kamala, I always stand up to bullies.
Cardi expressed her admiration for Harris and said she had not initially planned to support any candidate, but Harris changed her mind.
“I have no confidence in any candidate until she comes on board and says what I want to hear about the future of this country,” she explained. “I believed every word she said. She was passionate, compassionate, empathetic, and most importantly, realistic.
The rapper also took the opportunity to express her concerns about Trump, whom she called a “liar.”
“It is disgraceful to deprive women of their rights. To defraud Americans of their hard-earned money by selling Trump watches, Trump sneakers, Trump Bibles… Do we really believe this man has faith in our economy? A man who only cares about The guy who got rich and got a tax cut for his billionaire friends I didn’t even get a tax cut.
After the rally, Cardi went on to support Harris and criticize Trump on X (formerly Twitter), writing: “Donald Trump talks about having a plan, but his only plan is to rush you.”
