Legendary songwriter, guitarist and producer Graham Lyle will receive the BMI Icon Award at the 2024 BMI London Awards, which will be held at The Savoy on 9 December.
The recognition will celebrate Lyle’s five-decade career and his contributions to hit songs. The ceremony was hosted by BMI President and CEO microphone O’Nealwill also honor the most successful British and European songwriters and publishers of the past year based on their musical performances. Additionally, the event will present pop, film, television and cable music awards.
Lyle has written many chart-topping songs, including the iconic What does love have to do with it for Tina turnerco-authored with Cui Britten. The song reached number one in multiple countries, won a Grammy Award, and remains Turner’s best-selling single.
