It’s the season, and Kelly Clarkson is helping to ring in the holiday bells. The superstar will return for a second year as host of NBC’s annual show Christmas at Rockefeller Center TV broadcast.
She announced the exciting news on her show on Tuesday (November 5) The Kelly Clarkson Show. “Let’s talk about this incredible time of year. This city is just so magical. I love the holidays in New York,” she told the audience. “Living here during Christmas is like being in a movie. There is nothing like it in the world, especially the tree lighting ceremony, which is such an iconic tradition.
She continued, “I hosted it last year and I thought, ‘Oh, this would be fun.'” […] And then the tree lights up and you think, I don’t know, I realize I’m going to experience something. I howled. It’s so beautiful when you stand there. But I’m especially excited because for the second year in a row, I’ll be hosting Christmas at Rockefeller Center”.
In addition to hosting, Clarkson will also perform some holiday songs during the tree lighting ceremony. The three-time Grammy winner will have a huge selection of holiday repertoire to perform, including beloved holiday classics and originals from her two Christmas albums: 2013’s wrapped in red and 2021 As Christmas approaches… Additional performers for the special will be announced at a later date.
Christmas at Rockefeller Center It will air on Wednesday, December 4 at 8pm ET on NBC and live on Peacock.
