TikTok may have recently announced the closure of its TikTok Music streaming platform (first in a handful of countries where it was available), but the social media platform’s integration into the world of music streaming continues.
TikTok announced on Thursday (November 7) the launch of “Share to TikTok” feature, which is somewhat opposite to the “Add to Music” feature introduced over the past year.
“Add Music” allows TikTok users to save songs they find on TikTok to their favorite music streaming app, while “Share to TikTok” allows users to share music they find on the streaming platform to TikTok .
At least for now, “Share to TikTok” only works with apple music and Spotify. Music, podcasts and audiobooks from these platforms can all be shared to TikTok. This feature is available now.
There are two ways to share: Users can share tracks, albums, playlists or other content using the green screen feature or photo mode to post content to TikTok Feed (FYP and Stories). They can also share content with other TikTok Messages users via direct messages.
Shared content will always include a link back to the original streaming service it is hosted on.

The platform is currently negotiating individual licensing agreements with independent companies represented by Merlin. United Masters and Ditto music Signed an independent agreement with TikTok.
TikTok has also faced legal problems in several countries, including the United States, where a law passed this year required TikTok parent company Byte bounce spin off its US operations or face a ban on the app from January 2025.
Meanwhile, the Canadian government announced this week that it has ordered TikTok to shut down its Canadian operations, but Canadians will continue to use the app. TikTok said it also plans to challenge that in court.global music business
