Bill Hayes passed away last January and the DAYS movie was shot ahead of schedule, and now we’re getting our first look at the end of Doug’s life. Fortunately, there’s some good news to balance out this heavy story.
Doug’s Beautiful Farewell Will Be Even More Difficult Due to the Death of Derek Hogestyn
Time plays cruel tricks, and one of the cruelest is that Drake Hogestyn died a month before his scheduled send-off and tribute to Bill Hayes.
Days of Our Lives fans have been in mourning since September 28, with John’s exit story starting last week on the same day as Doug’s.
Maggie is also mourning Victor again because it will be their anniversary, which also makes this incredibly difficult.
How cruel is death and the passage of time to bring these legendary actors and characters so close to us!

Julie tells JJ the truth about Doug’s condition
I’m glad JJ is still in the picture. Even in this situation, it comforts me to have my favorite characters back.
According to Days of Our Lives spoilers, the week of 11/11/24, Julie will tell him the truth about Doug’s health.
She tells Maggie that Doug has a cold and is feeling “down” about fake Abigail, but obviously, that’s not the whole story.
Doug may be suffering from some kind of medical condition, but Julie is keeping it a secret. Spoilers ahead say he will die in his sleep, hopefully peacefully.
I’m glad Julie confided in JJ. For some reason, two different sets of writers insist on pushing JJ aside, even when it comes to his family’s problems, as if he’s not really a part of them.
This was not the case with Doug and Julie. They have always treated JJ Lin as an important member of the family, and this is natural.
The fact that Julie confided in him reminded me of Doug once telling JJ that when he and Julie left one day, he wanted JJ and Abigail to carry on the Christmas tradition, and JJ said yes.
I hope this Christmas comes around and it will be the first Christmas without Doug and John. I hope to see JJ fulfill this promise!
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of November 24th promise more body and soul nonsense, but it’s almost over
Hang in there everyone.
We just have to put up with this silly body and soul storyline a little longer. The new writing team, whose show will begin airing in April, is wrapping up this silly story.
Meanwhile, we’re going to see more of the unnecessary Johnny Jealousy storyline this week. He was the only one who cheated on her, and now he knows Chanel wasn’t unfaithful to him, but he’s still uncomfortable with the love scenes Chanel and Alex had to film.
hurry up! After Johnny was so cruel to Chanel for what he thought was happening, could we not be so quick to repeat this ridiculous beat?
She deserves better.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 11/11/24 also have Johnny feeling guilty about his one-night stand with Joey.
Joey will be nervous about the secret getting out, and Johnny will debate whether to tell it.
First of all, I don’t understand why every citizen of Salem who has a secret forgets that secrets always get out in some horrific way.
Just for once, I wish someone could tell the truth in the face of the coming storm and let things take their course.
This show may be asking a little too much, but I’m asking anyway.
I’m tired of this: people “think” about confessing, “agonize” about keeping secrets, and then do nothing until it all blows up in their face.
Worst of all, it would completely destroy any goodwill anyone in Salem had toward Joey. Their anger should be reserved for Johnny, but it’s not.
Hopefully they all decide to sleep together – we don’t need any questionable consent issues beyond that.
This makes them both feel guilty about Johnny marrying someone else instead of sleeping together while in an open relationship.
However, Johnny thinks it’s okay to cheat on Chanel because he believes she’s cheating on him.
Joy, while not blameless, is new and doesn’t know anything except what Johnny told her, which is that he’s alone because his wife is a cheating bitch.
I hope I’m wrong and this time, we don’t have a double standard where women are treated like pariahs while men’s lives move on after an affair.
I also hope that Joey doesn’t feel embarrassed or ostracized and returns to New York never to be seen again.
I like Joey. She’s a legacy character who never got a real story, and she deserves a better story than sleeping with a married man and getting kicked out of town.
With the arrival of new writers, there’s hope that this will happen, but it’s hard to believe because characters like Joey have been treated horribly and uglyly on Days of Our Lives over the years.
Two love triangles in black families
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 11/11/24 promise more Holly/Tate/Sofia action… and a new love triangle with Kristen/Brady/Ava the beginning of.
The Ava/Christine thing makes me yawn. Sorry if you are a fan of these two ships. I just couldn’t fit in with them.
This triangle means Brady has to choose between two supposedly reformed bad girls (we know that’s bullshit in Kristen’s case), both of whom have done unforgivable things to his family in the past (and also dated John!)
Kristen tried to kill Brady’s stepmother multiple times and was once married to John.
John goes on a date with Ava in hopes of getting back a memory disk she kept so he can remember who he is.
Why should we root for Brady to be with these two women?
The Holly/Tate/Sofia story is interesting because it’s a typical teen drama, both on TV and in real life.
Teenage emotions are always at full volume, and things like your crush being more interested in your best friend can seem like the end of the world for kids this age.
It’s hard to know who to root for in a situation like this. Holly did some stupid things to get Tate into trouble, then did more stupid things to get herself into trouble, and Sophia is a schemer and a liar.
These picks are almost as good as Brady’s picks.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of November 11 say Sofia will confront Tate and insist that he be honest about his feelings.
As annoying and cunning as Sofia is, she has enough self-respect to not be someone else’s consolation prize.
I give her a lot of credit for that, especially considering how many adults in Salem haven’t figured out this life lesson yet.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 11/11/24 say there’s going to be trouble for Rafe and Jada
I’m curious.
Not because of the idea that Rafe and Jada are in trouble in paradise. . That’s the vocation of a new soap opera couple.
However, spoilers say Paulina throws them for a loop, and I’m not sure what that is.
The only thing I can think of is that Paulina decided that she would rather Jada stayed on as police chief than give Rafe his job back.
Actually, it makes a lot of sense. Jada does a much better job than Rafe.
Still, I can’t help but think there’s more to it than that, maybe something to do with Vivian’s arrest and whatever manipulation she pulled to get out of it.
