SoundCloud has launched a new monetization system as part of its platform update, allowing Next Pro users to generate revenue during the initial upload process.
This new feature eliminates the multiple steps artists previously needed to monetize their content on the platform. sound cloud said in a blog post on Wednesday (November 13).
The updated monetization system is integrated directly into the upload workflow, allowing eligible Next Professional version Artist activation generates income.
‘Next Pro artists can now seamlessly opt-in’monetize‘ Make money from their tracks during the upload process. No need to navigate complex settings – SoundCloud makes it easy, so your creativity starts working for you right away,” the company said.
However, SoundCloud notes that monetization options are currently limited to Next Pro users who have previously monetized at least one track. Basic users and first-time monetizers will not be able to use this feature during the upload process, and the instant monetization option is not available for multi-track uploads.

The monetization update arrives alongside other platform improvements, including a new tool that lets Next Pro users distribute their tracks to more than 60 Music platforms include Spotify Directly from SoundCloud’s upload interface.

In addition to its core upload and distribution capabilities, SoundCloud has launched a beta merch program for select Next Pro artists. The program allows creators to offer merchandise through the SoundCloud Store without paying upfront production costs.
