Pioneering producer and singer Imogen Heap has teamed up with ethical AI music creation platform Jen to launch two new models inspired by her musical style. The partnership was announced on Thursday (November 14) at the Internet Summit in Lisbon, Portugal.
First, Heap introduced her own StyleFilter model, Jen’s patented tool that allows users to create original tracks that incorporate an artist or producer’s unique musical style into their new work. Specifically for Heap’s collaboration, the StyleFilter model was trained on her new singles “What Have You Done To Me” and “Last Night of an Empire.” Importantly, StyleFilter is said to be able to do this while still “maintaining transparency, protection and compensation” for the heap. Secondly, Heap and Jen also announced a new AI voice model that was trained on Heap’s unique voice.
Jen Co-Founder and CEO Sarah SenderoffHeap took center stage at Web Summit to demonstrate how StyleFilter works, turning cues into compositions and weaving Heap’s style into users’ original work. See their explanation below:
Throughout her decades-long career, Shipp has been regarded as an innovator who pushed the boundaries of art and technology. From early in her career, she popularized the use of the vocoder. She later developed her own products, such as the Mi.Mu Glove, a wearable tool that allows her to record loops and edit vocals with small hand movements, and the Creative Passport, a program that connects the artist’s A service that integrates all information into one place.
When interviewed last month The Guardian, Shipp explained that her new artificial intelligence assistant, named Morgan, was trained on Shipp’s interviews, speeches and traditional knowledge and was essentially like a living autobiography, answering fan questions in her persona. Later, she hopes to expand Morgan’s musical improvisational training and become a live collaborator in performances.
Jen is an AI music production platform that puts transparency first. Its Jen-1 model, launched in June, is a text-to-music model trained on 40 different licensed catalogs (and then validated on 150 million songs). It is also backed by the founder/CEO of APG MacCallumwho will become a founding partner in the fall of 2023. advertising billboard”, “Jen is spelled JEN because she is designed to be the friend you come into the studio with. She is just a tool.
Jen uses blockchain technology to ensure transparency and the ability to track her work once it is generated and published around the world. Every piece created using Heap’s StyleFilter will be licensed for use through Auracles, an upcoming non-profit platform designed by Jen that leverages data provenance to give artists more access to works created using their StyleFilter models , control and permission.
While other AI companies are working on creating personalized AI music models that have been previously trained on a specific catalog of producers or artists, such as Soundful Collabs, Jen’s team believes StyleFilter is different because “it can Trained to learn and apply the artist’s style” to a song, taking creative precision and efficiency to new levels. “A spokesman for the company said.
“Sarah’s integrity shines brightly at this critical moment in our human history,” Shipp said. “The exponential curve of AI innovation attracts opportunists who are primarily focused on lining their own pockets in a gold rush, or those who race to plant their “technology flag” in the sand to corner the market. In addition to the obvious innovation of the product and a new revenue stream for Jen as a musician, Sarah’s inspiring strength and determination to build the right ethical foundation from the beginning is inspiring. This is a very rare example of service that contributes to a future where humanity is empowered, valued, and trusted in our collective global tools and knowledge.
“At Jen, we are determined to create innovative products that invite artists to participate in artificial intelligence reshaping the music industry, allowing their art to take on new forms as technology evolves, while ensuring they are respected and fairly compensated,” said Senderoff. “Our StyleFilter is a testament to this vision, giving users a breakthrough way to collaborate with the musical essence of artists they may never have the opportunity to work with directly. Partnering with Imogen Heap, a pioneer in the intersection of music and technology Launching this product reflects our commitment to respect and revere those who paved the way. She is also an incredible person and I am honored to call her my friend.
