Spoilers for those who haven’t seen the season finale yet Penguin.
Penguin The season finale ends in a very, very dark, shocking, and heart-wrenching way. This ending was hurtful because it involved the death of a character I really liked, one who didn’t deserve to die the way he did.
Colin Ferrell recently spoke during a post-screening Q&A Penguin The finale took place at the Saban Media Center, during which actors described what it was like for the cast and crew on the night of the show’s final filming.
The final scene is where Ferrell’s Oswald Cobb murders Victor Aguilar (Renzi Feliz). Feliz described the moments before his death as “perhaps the most vulnerable interaction between Oz and Victor in the entire series.”
After telling Oz that he was the closest family member he had, Oz began strangling Vic. I hate watching this, where any sympathy you had for Oz over the course of the series was thrown into the garbage disposal and torn to shreds.
Ferrell described the scene this way: “It really took away the last bit of innocence. A man who gave so much life, suffered so much loss, and offered so much loyalty, so much love…He The man who saw the light extinguished by all he gave.
The actor went on to talk about his hatred and respect for how Victor’s storyline ended, before saying, “There was a dark energy that night.
“If you’re going to make the audience fall in love with the character, and I feel like the audience has fallen in love with Renzi’s Vic, then the staff will fall in love with the character as well.”
Deirdre O’ConnellThe actress who plays Oz’s mother Frances Cobb has spoken about how the final page of the show’s final episode required her to shed a bizarre tear while in a vegetative state.
As for what she was thinking while filming that scene, she said: “I don’t even know if he knew he was doing it, I don’t know how someone could do that, but he took his love back. It was obvious in the room Oz withdrew his love and I felt it, and my blood ran cold. He gave me tears.
Farrell continued: “It’s very human and very relatable. It’s painful, but there’s beauty in it.
I knew this was where the story needed to go, that killing Vic would bring Oz completely to the dark side, but it was still hard to pull off.
