Hunter King and Taylor Hines spark romantic connection in trailer Holiday touchdown: A Chiefs love story.
Hallmark and the NFL teamed up to create this holiday movie in which a Kansas City Chiefs superfan and the team’s director of fan engagement fall in love. While the movie isn’t based on anything specific, it does come after global superstar Taylor Swift caused a stir in the football world last year when she started dating Chiefs star Travis Kelce.
“Alana Higman (King) is convinced her family’s lifelong history as Kansas City Chiefs superfans makes them the frontrunners to win the team’s Fan of the Year contest. Derek (Hines) is a fan Director of Engagement, who was tasked with evaluating Alana and her family against the other two finalists. As the two spent some time together, it was clear that sparks were flying between them, but when her grandfather When (Ed Begley Jr.)’s vintage Chiefs good-luck winter hat goes missing, Alana begins to question everything she believes about destiny and even her future with Derek—unless a little Christmas magic can do the trick Bring on the Hail Mary,” the film’s synopsis reads.
The cast also includes Diedric Bader, Megyn Price, Christine Ebersole and Richard Leal. Real-life Travis Kelce’s mom, Donna Kelce, also guest stars, along with Jenna Busch Hager, Coach Andy Reid, Trey Smith, Mecole Hardman Jr., Clyde Edwards-Helaire, George Kraftis, KC Wolf, Richard Christie, Tyron Biggs, Mayor Quinton Lucas, Trent Green, Christie Ann Okoye and Matt McMullan.
