After reckless young lawyer Gordon Bombay is arrested for DUI, he must perform community service by coaching a children’s hockey team. Gordon had on-ice experience but was in no rush to return to hockey, which was reflected in his strained relationship with his former coach, Jack Reilly. A reluctant Gordon eventually came to appreciate his team, which included promising young Charlie Conway, and led them against Riley’s tough players.

    Movie review:

    • r96sk: Very good.
    • “The Mighty Duck” This is a movie I’ve heard about for a long, long time, but this is my first time watching it. In short, I love it. A satisfying sports story, solid information, decent humor and a serviceable cast.
    • Emilio Estevez plays the role of Gordon very well and he is definitely the best actor on display here. There were a lot of child actors who were okay, but Shawn Weiss (Goldberg) was the one that stood out the most in my memory.
    • A great little movie about a local youth hockey team that’s great for the whole family.
