When 9-1-1 Season 8 began, Bobby Nash found himself leaving Team 118 and entering the entertainment industry as a technical consultant for the television series Hotshots.
The show-within-a-show angle continued throughout the first half of the season, with Bobby’s relationship with Hotshots star Brad Torrance also a highlight.
Bobby has found an admirer in Brad, and that’s never more evident than in 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 7, when Bobby and 118 people are called to a Hollywood set after a stunt goes wrong.
With Vincent Gerard now serving as technical advisor, things weren’t going so well on set, and the relationship between Gerard and Brad was complicated at best.
When Bobby is tasked with returning to his short-lived workplace to help Gerald become more likeable and thus develop a better working relationship with Brad, it feels like an impossible task.
After such a grand Bobby moment, we chatted with star Peter Krause about this Hotshots story and the relationship between Bobby and Brad when Brad caused a commotion in the restaurant , which will bring some friction.
When Bobby returns to the team, he may have thought the Hotshots were right behind him, but he can’t seem to escape, which Klaus finds hilarious.
“The funny thing is, the job he got by leaving 118 too early led to all the other chaos, and Brad Torrence wasn’t going to let him go,” Krause said.
“I, Peter, thought it was very interesting to watch this show from the outside. I think it frustrated Bobby, but I also think Bobby had a soft spot for Brad, even though they were in the restaurant over Brad’s treatment of the waitress. Disputes arise in the manner.
“I think Bobby likes Brad. He dislikes everything about him. Brad is now riding with him, which is certainly an unwelcome surprise. It does add a dimension of disruption and potential disaster. Who knows How will Brad get in the way in the future?
Chief Simpson asks Bobby to return to the Hotshots set for the second time this hour, and while Bobby is used to playing some therapist role through his job as captain, the scope this time is a little different.
Changing an adult and making him more likeable is a challenge, but Bobby is up to the challenge.
However, as Klaus explains, Bobby may have another agenda.
When asked how Bobby felt about being asked to facilitate Gerrard’s changes, Klaus told us: “He wanted to be free from Gerrard and Brad, go back to 118 and keep things the same. look.
“But he was a fire chief, a good leader, and when problems came up, he was there to fix them, so I think Bobby was typical Bobby, trying to do the right thing, trying to help people.
“But, the funny thing is, his intention is actually to get rid of these guys, and they just won’t go away, and that’s the comedy. It’s good.
Brad’s crush on Bobby continues throughout the season. The actor wasn’t shy about heaping praises on Bobby and tried to emulate his behavior while playing a firefighter.
But is there a deeper reason behind Brad’s admiration?
“I think on the surface he wanted to be a legitimate fire chief on television, so Brad felt like maybe he could fill some of that void by actually getting out there and experiencing what it’s like to be a real fire chief.” firefighter.
“I think he wanted to be a real fire chief, or at least be perceived as real.”
During their time together, Bobby often showed great patience with Brad. Still, he reached his breaking point during an uncomfortable dinner where Brad berated the waiter for not honoring his specific drink order.
Bobby didn’t hesitate to scold the famous actor, while other restaurant diners eagerly filmed the encounter.
Intervening is almost second nature to Bobby, as Krause explained, “I think he has certain standards and he gets tired of it when he sees people mistreating other people, so I do think that does make It bothered Bobby to see Brad treating that man the way he did.
While Bobby and Brad’s relationship seemed irrevocably broken after the restaurant confrontation, Brad grew fond of Bobby after Bobby turned against him, and the episode culminated in Brad joining 118 and stalking the Captain himself .
Considering what we’ve seen of Brad, especially in 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 3, it’s safe to assume he’ll be jumping straight into the heat of the action.
As Klaus told us, “Well, no surprise, he got in our way and there were consequences, but it was really fun in the end. Brad learned something. I’d say Bobby learned something too. Something, but at the end of the day, it’s all for fun.
“There’s going to be some chaos, but all in all, it’s a fun binge, and Brad Torrance’s Hotshots storyline will bring some surprises to 118. So if audiences keep liking it, then There are more surprises to come. This is a really good, relatively light-hearted storyline.
“It was great to see Bobby stand up to Brad when he was abusing the woman in the restaurant. I do think Brad[Callum Blue]has some emptiness inside and it was fun to work with him. Everyone really enjoyed it. This character, and him, on set.
“So, it’s been really fun to have something light-hearted and light-hearted like that running for a while in season eight.”
This dynamic between Klaus and Blue was certainly well represented on screen, with the two embracing each other throughout the hour, which Klaus relished.
“This episode is funny,” Tim wrote of the hug between Bobby and Brad, and also between Bobby and Gerald. During this time, the men are hugging each other, and it’s a It’s a good comedy,” Krause said.
Hugs are always great, and they were plentiful when Bobby finally came back to 118 in the final moments of 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 4.
Bobby is in a much different place now than when he exited during the 9-1-1 season of Season 7, and he’s happy to be back where he belongs.
“Oh, it feels like coming home,” Krause declared when asked how Bobby feels about being with the team now. “That was his work family. Obviously Athena was his home, but the fire station was his home as well.
“The five of us were really fun to work together as well. We all really liked each other and worked well together, but there was also that. But for me, Peter, I’m really happy that Bobby chose to retire in season seven. We Not going to have all those things.
Speaking of Athena and their home, Klaus doesn’t know much about Bobby and Athena’s plans and long-gestating house hunt.
But when the show returns after its winter hiatus, “I believe there will be a time jump, so I don’t know if we’ll keep looking, or if we’ve found a place, or if we’re building, or if we’re already going A place now.
While Klaus can’t tell us more about what we’ll see from Barcena in 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 8, as “a lot of the plot revolves around a few plot points that I don’t think I’ve yet Ready to Reveal” He did leave us with a major tease in the final hour of 2024.
“I can tell you that something big happened to one of the protagonists, something shocking. Even though we’ve been through some tough moments, the fall season is going to end on a high note, if you will.
