I’m sharing a behind-the-scenes video with you today to give you a first look at the upcoming survival thriller primitive warwhich star Jeremy Piven (Entourage) and Ryan Kwanten (true blood).
This movie is set against the backdrop of the Vietnam War and tells the story of a group of soldiers confronting dinosaurs! “Primal War” is adapted from the cult novel of the same name by Ethan Pettus.
The story follows Condor Squad, “a reconnaissance team sent into a remote jungle valley in 1968 to search for a missing platoon of Green Berets, only to find themselves face to face with the prehistoric predators.”
The writer and director of this film is Luke Sparks (Career rain, bring him to me), and also add stars Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica, Lucifer), Nick Wexler (Revenge, boys), Anthony Engruber (Age of Adaline), Aaron Greinane (Danger close), carlos sanson jr. (Collide) and Anna Thu Nguyen (Mortal Kombat 2).
The film was shot on Australia’s Gold Coast with a mostly local crew, and the massive sets and authentic jungle scenes create a raw, immersive experience.
The behind-the-scenes video not only features footage from the film, but also interviews with the cast and crew talking about what it took to bring this crazy story to life.
Sparks spoke of first reading Pettus’s novel and how the striking cover of a soldier fighting a Utahraptor sparked his imagination, while Helfer added, “It’s about people coming to Together, we use our primitive instincts to survive.
Wexler described the concept as “a banana—and much better than any business.” Carlos Sanson added that it’s “a combination of a war movie, a dinosaur movie, an action movie – the best of all genres.”
