Did King of Tulsa Season 2 Episode 8 have you excited, or left you scratching your head?
The ending is filled with thrilling twists and head-scratching moments.
If I had to pick one topic, it would undoubtedly be “negotiations” – but for all the deals that are made and broken, no one seems to get quite what they want.
Instead, we’re treated to upheaval, a shocking ending, and more questions than answers.
Yet, isn’t that why we keep coming back? Tulsa King doesn’t create clean resolutions—it creates chaos.
Dwight’s dream of peace and stability?
It was wiped out before it even had a chance to take root.
What unfolds is not so much an ending as a dramatic reshuffling, a scattering of characters and alliances.
Chickie has been around since the first episode of The King of Tulsa Season 1, making a shocking and bloody exit that paved the way for Bill Bevilaqua to take on a bigger role .
Elsewhere, Joanne steps up to run the weed shop, Bodhi accepts his role as the mastermind behind the grow business, and Mitch moves on to his civilian life, doing a very bad job for “Mickey Keller’s Motor City” advertising.
The atmosphere is part “changing of the guard” and part “trial by fire.”
But before we discuss the consequences, let’s look at how we got here.
The episode opens with Dwight claiming Carl’s empire – a moment that could have gone wild quickly, but he didn’t.
Neal Macdonald’s Carl tries to adopt the same tough-guy behavior with Jackie Min, but Dwight isn’t buying it.
One of the most surprising twists of the episode is that Carl admits defeat without resorting to violence or making a fuss that someone would use violence against him.
It’s a surprisingly low-key exit for Macdonald’s character, best known for Flames of Glory.
But in a way, it’s appropriate. Dwight doesn’t need to fire a gun – his mere presence is enough to send Carl away with a smile on his face (and his life).
Of course, not everyone is easy to deal with. Enter Bill, who makes a bold contribution to 50% of Dwight’s business. His reasoning? They all suffered losses, and his men helped take down Jackie Min.
It was a brave move, but Dwight was in no mood to give up half of his empire. Still, Beal walked away with a whopping 25 percent of the vote—a victory that seemed fair, if not entirely satisfying. Until Chickie showed up.
Chiqui’s desperation is palpable, but he doesn’t try hard enough to save his own life.
Fresh out of his own crime family, he attempts to get back on top by selling Bill a three-way partnership that will ultimately overthrow Dwight and expand their business.
But Chicky underestimated Bill’s ambition and his ruthlessness.
In one of the finale’s most shocking scenes, Bill shoots Chicky in the head during negotiations to win himself 50% of Dwight’s empire.
It was a defining moment for Beal, proving he was a dangerous player and a guy worthy of being part of Dwight’s operation.
Then, just when everything seemed to be settling, the attack happened.
The finale only lasts 35 minutes and packs a lot into that short amount of time, but the final moments are the most surprising.
Shadows in unmarked uniforms burst into Margaret’s home, leading a hooded Dwight to a mysterious place. Their cryptic message—”You now work for us”—is enough to send shivers down your spine.
But who are they? Is it the FBI? Rogue government agency? Something else entirely? The lack of identity deepens the mystery and leaves us with a lot to guess during the long wait for season three.
There are some theories worth considering. Stacey is one of them, and she has every reason to come back to get revenge on Dwight. Their relationship falls apart dramatically, and her sudden disappearance from the story feels unresolved. Is she the one behind the scenes?
Then there’s Margaret. That shell she packed at the ranch might seem insignificant at first glance, but her sly smile suggests otherwise. Was this a calculated move or just a moment of curiosity? Regardless, she’s not out of the woods yet.
Let us not forget the wider impact of that attack.
Dwight’s world has always been one of looming danger, but this feels like a new level of threat. Was it really someone from FBI headquarters who requested files on Dwight from local law enforcement?
No matter who’s changing, Dwight is no longer just a gangster with a stake in Tulsa – he’s a pawn in someone else’s game. The question is: who is playing and what is their ending?
I admit, I hoped the ending would take us away from the drama in New York once and for all and open the door to new adventures in Tulsa. Instead, Dwight seems more trapped than ever.
As much as I hate that I’m right, the people around him are clearly in more danger than ever. It’s frustrating, sure, but it’s also classic Tulsa Kings. The show thrives on chaos, and the ending proves it.
Still, there’s plenty to look forward to. The changing dynamics between Dwight, Bill, and a mysterious new force are expected to bring about sea change in season three.
How will this all play out, especially if the pieces are reshuffled? What about the other crew members──Joanne, Bodhi, and Mickey? Their new roles open up interesting possibilities, but they also set bigger goals for themselves.
So, what do you think?
Did the ending live up to your expectations, or did you wish for something different? Who do you think is really behind this attack?
Leave your theories in the comments – I’d love to hear your thoughts.
