Can I apply without any acting experience?
We will always evaluate each application individually. However, if you have some previous acting experience, you will be able to gain more from the one-year Intensive Professional Diploma in Acting for Stage and Screen. If you have little or no acting experience, then perhaps you could consider applying for our one-year foundation course, or our two-year HND in Acting and Performance, which starts each September.

Are there any auditions?
Yes. We have rolling auditions throughout the year and all the latest information is in the Audition Guide. Unlike many other schools, our auditions are completely free and can be held via Zoom if traveling to Glasgow is difficult.
What opportunities will I have after graduation?
Upon graduation, you will be eligible to join Equity – Actors Alliance. Equity is a union with about 45,000 members, and benefits include accident and back-office insurance, career advice, legal support and more. Unlike many years ago, you don’t have to be an Equity member to become a professional actor, but most professional actors are members.
Another benefit of undertaking the one-year intensive professional diploma training in Stage and Screen Acting with Acting Coach Scotland is that you will be eligible to become a Graduate Member of Spotlight. Spotlight is an industry library that connects performers around the world with roles in theater, television and film productions. Whether you are self-represented or have an agent, the majority of acting work in the UK will be done through Spotlight.
Is this course open to international students?
Unfortunately we are not currently a visa sponsor, but some students from other countries may be able to train with us as long as they do not require a study visa. You can check it out here

What’s the fare? Is there any sponsorship or funding?
As of 2023, the one-year Intensive Professional Diploma in Stage and Screen Acting costs £8,750 per year. However, this can be paid in installments throughout the year.
Unfortunately, because the course is a “bespoke” course – it is completely unique and therefore does not fit into traditional funding support structures. However, Acting Coach Scotland does have two other courses (Foundation Acting Course and the two-year Acting HND) which are based on a more traditional funding model and are therefore eligible for financial support for certain students.
Where are the courses offered?
The course takes place at the Scottish Acting Instructor’s studio in Glasgow. Glasgow is one of Scotland’s largest and most vibrant cities, bursting with theatre, music and culture.
The average age for this course is mid to late twenties, but we will consider applications from all ages 17 and over.
What are the class times for this course?
Tutorial times are normally Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm, and we have term breaks at least every other month.
Is this course suitable for getting into drama school?
Yes, you can. Many of our graduates begin their acting careers after undertaking an intensive one-year professional diploma training in Stage and Screen Acting. However, some also went on to train at professional drama schools in the UK and Europe.
If your specific goal is to use training with a Scottish acting coach as a springboard into a three-year drama school course, you may also consider looking for Basic acting course.
When do auditions take place?
this The one-year intensive professional diploma course in Stage and Screen Acting is held from September to August every year. Auditions take place year-round, but places are limited, so the sooner you apply, the sooner you’ll be ready for your new acting training journey!
