Legendary Comics and Karloff Enterprises team up to create a new Frankenstein graphic novel titled Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein Starring Boris Karloff.
We’ve shared a first look at some art with you below, featuring Boris Karloff as the monster, but it’s a new, original design for the character, which is pretty cool!
It gives us a fresh and faithful interpretation of Shelley’s timeless story. Graphic novel reunites award-winning creative team Carey Gammill and elgarinfamous for winning the RONDO Award Bram Stoker’s Dracula Starring Bela Lugosibringing their renowned artistry and storytelling skills to one of horror’s most enduring characters.
“Decades before the works of Edgar Allan Poe, Jules Verne and HG Wells, 18-year-old Mary Shelley wrote what many consider to be the first science fiction novel, Frankenstein : Or, The Modern Prometheus, published in 1818.
More than a hundred years later, in 1931, a diligent but relatively unknown actor, Boris Karloff, was chosen to play Frankenstein’s monster in James Whale’s film adaptation of the classic . The film made Karloff a star and cemented Frankenstein’s monster as a screen icon.
