While the One Chicago universe does have its fair share of memorable guest stars, I can’t say I’m as excited about any of them as I am right now.
The recent addition of actor and singer Steven Strait to Chicago Fire gives fans something extra to look forward to each week.
Now, Violet is finally ready to take on a new love interest, as helpful bystander turned romantic star Flynn Calhoun is here to woo our favorite caregiver.
If Flynn sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because Steven Strait’s extensive catalog of performances has graced your screen in some way.
He began acting as a teenager, and even in his earliest roles, Street became an instant heartthrob.
He’s played a variety of characters, from an angry, super-powered teenager bent on avenging his father’s death, to a dream warlock in a movie filled with other dream warlocks.
In recent years, he has found success starring in popular TV series such as The Big Sky.
We’re looking at some of Steven Strait’s most memorable roles.
Which one do you like best?
Flynn Calhoun in “Chicago Fire”
To be honest, the goatee made me uncomfortable, and I didn’t immediately recognize him when he appeared on “Chicago Fire.”
Fan favorite Murasaki Mikami’s love life has been complicated so far on the show, and that’s putting it mildly.
She endures unimaginable grief after witnessing her boyfriend’s death, and then a relationship with another co-worker fizzles out horribly.
Flynn has taken Violet on a few dates since they met over the phone, and we’ve seen some higher-level pursuits.
When he realizes he has to cancel his date with Violet, he shows up in person to tell her so she doesn’t think she was scared off by a text message. What a guy, am I right?
There’s no word yet on how long this relationship will last (or if it might be the show’s final ship), but we’ll happily continue to enjoy all the screen time Strait gets.

Jim Holden in “The Big Sky”
As far as TV shows based on books go, The Expanse is one of the most successful examples of the genre.
Strait plays Jim Holden, the captain of a spaceship called the Rocinante.
The show is set in the distant future; small It’s hard to follow if you’re not familiar with the source material, but worth a look.
In this future universe, Street’s character is the biological child of eight parents who combined their DNA to create him and raised him on Earth (Montana, to be precise).
When he learns the truth that his conception was a plan to inherit a failed war for territory, Holden escapes and joins the Navy, discharges, and then escapes to space.
If you like science fiction, characters who radically change themselves for what they believe is right, and have the time to sit through six seasons of a TV show, The Expanse is a great choice.

Warren Pease at Disney’s Sky Heights
Picture this.
In 2005, miniskirts paired with jeans were considered fashionable, and the first video had just been uploaded to YouTube.
In a year that historians have looked back on and called “extremely weird,” Disney released a campy teen superhero comedy called Sky High and I’m in Love with Steven Strait .
The film focuses on the teenage son of a famous superhero, his best friend and next-door neighbor, and their new beginnings at a titular high school located miles above the clouds.
Protagonist Will learns on day one that he already has an nemesis: Warren Peace, the son of a supervillain who was brought down by—you guessed it—Will’s parents.
Warren is sexy (no, I mean that literally; his superpowers are fire-based), and Strait perfectly portrays the 2005 version of the ideal teenage bad boy.
He has a red streak in his hair for extra emphasis on his bad boy image.

brooks’ revenge
Few shows are as dramatic as ABC’s hit “Revenge,” starring Emily Van Camp.
Somehow, the dark side behind the closed doors of the Hamptons’ wealthiest family only lasted four seasons, but the show remains beloved by fans.
Steven Strait wasn’t on the show for a long time. His arc only lasted two episodes in Revenge Season 3.
Still, his character (a PI named Brooks) makes a strong impression.

Caleb Danvers in “Covenant”
Here’s the thing. Between 2005 and 2009, the “popular people doing paranormal things” genre was huge.
This era gave us Evil Dead, The Twilight Saga, The Vampire Diaries and True Blood. Those were the great days of being a teenager, okay?
From the depths of the genre emerged a classic: The Pact.
Steven Strait with Sebastian Stan, Taylor Kitsch, Toby Hemingway and Chace Crawford Heartthrobs like Chace Crawford teamed up to create an extremely moody, slightly erotic teen Warlock movie that featured more topless scenes than Baywatch.
If you haven’t seen this movie, I really can’t convince you to watch it, but if you’re looking for a way to kill a few hours, it’s the perfect mix of cringe-worthy and nostalgic.
Anyway, that’s how I spent my weekend.

Stevie Evans on “Magic City”
The short-lived Starz series Magic City may not have taken off the way fans hoped, but two seasons were enough for Steven Straight to make his mark.
The series is set in Miami in 1959 and explores the dark secrets hidden by powerful people.
The Evans family owns the Miramar Beach Hotel, and Stevie spends his days flirting with trouble (and women) while his father (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) tries to groom him to be his heir.
Steve wasn’t exactly what you’d call a gentleman, but he had a face that allowed him to get away with…well, everything.
The show is sexy, intense and dramatic. For fans of historical fiction and handsome playboys alike, this is a great way to escape to a new universe.
Will Magic City get the green light today? Probably not. But for a few years, it delighted about half a million people.

Henry in Life(2019)
In the future, human-like robots will take care of us. What is it that makes people so enthusiastic and troubled?
Life Like is another thriller about the nightmare of a robot uprising, following a young couple who learn a hard lesson when their robot slave gets a little hurt. also Helpful.
No spoilers here, but suffice it to say that Steven Strait’s character is a sexy, evil robot, at least as much as Michael Fassbender in the Alien series, and that’s saying something.
Life Like is worth watching, but you may want to turn off your Alexa device first.
