Marvel Studios has released a new photo of its upcoming animated series Marvel Zombiesscheduled to premiere on Disney+ on October 3, 2025.
There’s also an interesting new synopsis that was shared that Marvel clearly isn’t taking too seriously. The description reads: “It’s ‘Marvel Zombies’!” That’s it! That’s the summary.
Marvel animation Brian Andrews previously confirmed Marvel Zombies will be awarded “hardcore” TV-MA ratings, and he said it will also be a four-episode “event series.”
I saw some clips of the series at D23 earlier this year and this show looks like it’s going to be great!
video display showing Simu Liu’s Shang Qihe AwkwafinaKatie is the protagonist of one of the stories in the series.
The first clip we watch shows a city overrun by zombies, Shang-Chi and Katie fighting them, and a fleet of helicopters flying through the sky, blowing the zombies away.
Shang-Chi’s father is in the helicopter and he jumps out to use the power of the Ten Rings to help fight off the zombies. During the battle, Zhang Ji’s arm was bitten by a zombie.
When he begins to turn into a zombie, with decay moving up his arms, his father saves him by transferring the Ten Rings to him. The rings, placed on Shang-Chi’s arms, stopped the infection from spreading further, but his arm still rotted away.
Since his father lost the protection of the Ten Rings, he was killed and Shang-Chi and Katie escaped in a helicopter.
The second clip is set five years after the events, with the world now a Mad Max-esque wasteland! There was a bunch of guys driving around in these crazy Maxi-style vehicles, and Katie was sitting in one of them with her arms immobilized.
As they race through the desert wasteland, the Cree motorcycle gang comes for them, and it’s the start of an exciting road rage battle.
I loved the clips shown and this series looks like it’s going to be great! We’re actually going to be bringing a true Marvel Zombies story to life, which is super exciting!
The show takes place in an alternate reality and reimagines the Marvel Universe as a new generation of heroes battling the spreading zombie scourge.
Miracle Star Iman Villani It has been confirmed that she will reprise her role as Kamala Khan (aka Ms. Marvel) in the series, and her character will be at the heart of the show.
“We’ve done this whole thing,” Villani said. “It’s awesome. It’s so much fun. I love it — there’s a lot of cool characters in the Marvel Zombies show. Kamala is the center of the show.
Villani also mentioned Lord of the Rings Talking about the series explaining Kamala’s character, she said: “They described it to me and it was like, ‘She’s basically the Frodo of the story.'” I was like, ‘This is so Awesome.
