Fans have been waiting for Cardi’s new LP for more than five years, and the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2018 Invasion of privacy Six and a half years later her entire discography remains. She previously teased in October that her sophomore project was “coming soon,” confirming that she was actively working on it in the studio.
But, as Cardi pointed out during the live broadcast, she’s been extremely busy the past few years, especially in 2024. On the personal front, she welcomed her third child in September and just weeks ago filed for divorce from Offset for the second time. Since the spat, the ex-boyfriends, who are also parents to daughter Kulture and son Wave, have repeatedly attacked each other on social media.
On the professional side, the “WAP” artist has been spearheading her Whipshots business as she released multiple singles this year, including “Like What (Freestyle),” “Enough (Miami),” “Puntería” featuring Shakira and “Wanna” on “Be” with Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla.
“This has been the rudest year I’ve ever been through,” Cardi concluded during her live stream. “I don’t know what the hell happened this year. I can’t even tell you. A bh got banged up, ab-hf-king fell in love, then fell out of love, then got divorced… I’m going through a very different thing in my fucking life transformation.
Cardi has also been active in politics this year, endorsing Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election and speaking at the vice president’s final campaign rally on November 1. Trump, the rapper wrote on Instagram, “To Vice President Kamala, no matter what they say to disparage you or your campaign for president, they can never say you didn’t run with honesty and integrity!”
“This may not mean anything, but I’m so proud of you!” she added at the time. “No one ever made me change my mind, but you did! I never thought one day a woman of color would run for President of the United States, but you showed me, my daughter, and women across the country everything All possible.
