Music licensing platform Slipstream has partnered with Kobalt for global music publishing management, including Kobalt’s investment in Slipstream.
The companies have not disclosed the value of Kobalt’s investment, but said the partnership “expands both companies’ capabilities in a significant way to combine technology and expertise to serve the entire music publishing ecosystem.”

Kobalt claims to be the world’s largest independent music publisher, with more than 1 million song. Kobalt represents some of the major songwriters including Rodylic, Max Martin, Carol G, Andrew Watt, Stevie Nicks, Phoebe Bridgers, The Lumineers, Guna, Justin Qualls, Spitfireand Paul McCartneywait.

Kobalt has a strong focus on technology to grow its business. Earlier this year, Kobalt launched an updated version of its client portal, which includes a “Collection Gap” tool that allows songwriters to see how long there is a delay between the use of a song and the receipt of associated royalties.
