South Korea-based entertainment giant HYBE has announced a major leadership change at BIGHIT MUSIC, appointing Seon Jeong Shin as the label’s new president.
BIGHIT MUSIC is HYBE’s flagship record label (HYBE formerly known as Big Hit Entertainment) and K-pop superstar’s record label base station and x together tomorrow.
Seon Jeong Shin served as the brand’s general manager (GM). Today (November 26) the shareholders’ meeting and the board of directors approved the promotion of the senior executive.
The executive succeeds Young Jae Shin, who has served as president of BIGHIT MUSIC since 2020.
Young Jae Shin recently assumed the position of President HYBE Music Group Asia Pacificoverseeing all music label operations in Korea and Japan.
HYBE said today that his mission is to “optimize[ing] Regional operation, reallocation[ing] resources, enhancements[ing] Music service capabilities enhance the global competitiveness of HYBE artists.”
HYBE Music Group Asia Pacific Launched in August as part of the company’s new global structure, called HYBE 2.0.
An industry veteran with over 14 years of experience at HYBE (formerly Big Hit Entertainment), Shin is credited with playing an “important” role in BTS’s creation and early success.

According to HYBE, her “holistic approach has helped shape well-rounded artists, contributing to their global success.”
In addition, Shin played an integral role in expanding HYBE’s training system into the North American market, helping shape the debut of KATSEYE, the first global girl group to collaborate with HYBE Geffen Records.

In recognition of her contributions to the industry, Shin was named to the 2022 Billboard 40 Under 40 list.
Seon Jeong Shin’s promotion at HYBE marks the company’s latest leadership change.
Earlier this month, Min Hee-jin resigned as director of HYBE’s Ador brand.
In July this year, Jiwon Park, who had served as HYBE’s CEO for the past three years, resigned. He will be replaced by Jason Jaesang Lee, the company’s former chief strategy officer.
