The film centers on a Canadian documentary filmmaker who, in his final days, conducts a final interview with one of his former students, telling the full truth about his life.
Here’s the plot synopsis: Aging filmmaker Leonard Fife (played by Gere) remains passionate despite his battle with illness and wants to tell his life story unfiltered before it’s too late. .
“As the director of the critically acclaimed documentary Expose, he has much to be proud of, but his experiences as a draft evader during the Vietnam War and his past relationships hide thorny truths.
Leonard conducts a lengthy interview with his former student Malcolm (Michael Imperioli), telling the story of his younger self (Elordi) during the turbulent 1960s and… Candid stories later.
At Leonard’s insistence, his wife and indispensable artistic partner Emma (Thurman) witnesses all this. His successes are contradicted by his failures, and as the man’s myth is cleared away, Leonard must face what’s left.
The movie is from the director Paul Schrader (american gigolo, cat people, Dominion: The Exorcist Prequel) and it also has stars mount victoria, Michael Imperioli, Penelope Mitchelland Christine Froseth.
Geno Lorber will release the film in select theaters on December 5, 2024.
