Of the two seasons of the Marvel Disney+ series Lokiwe learn a lot about the villain he plays Tom Hiddlestonwho will win our hearts.
In a deleted scene from the show’s second season (which we can watch on the upcoming 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release), Loki gives us another glimpse into his past. The God of Mischief recalled how many people “said I was a problem” when talking to his friend Morbius (Owen Wilson) on top of key lime pie slices.
Loki named Thor’s compatriot in Asgard: Volstagg (Ray Stevenson), Hogan (Tadanobu Asano) and Fandral (Josh Dallas and Zachary Levi), and Laufey (Colm Feore), King of the Frost Giants, Loki’s biological father, and Bor (Tony Curran), the father of Odin and Loki’s adoptive grandfather. He mentions Heimdall twice, Loki says, because “Heimdall is a big deal!”
Loki lists Thor’s girlfriend Jane Foster on Earth (Natalie Portman), here is scientific colleague Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgård) and her intern Darcy Lewis (Kate Dennings). He also appointed Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D.Samuel Jackson) and Agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders)—and Donald Blake, “Thor pretended to be him when he went to Earth.”
Among the names, Loki also mentioned two Marvel Comics characters that audiences have yet to encounter in the Marvel Universe. The first is Amora, also known as the Witch, a magical Asgardian and one of Thor’s enemies.
The second is another villain, the Absorbing Man, who started out as a boxer named Carl Creel—until Loki poisoned him with an elixir that gave him the ability to transform his body into A quality that transforms into anything he comes into contact with.
Finally, Loki mentioned Hercules, the Greek demigod who has appeared in Marvel comics since 1965. Thor: Love and Thunder,Depend on tedso Star Brett Goldstein.
In that scene, Hercules’ father Zeus (Russell Crowe), ordered his son to defeat Thor (after Thor impaled Zeus with his own lightning bolt). Marvel Studios has yet to announce when or if Hercules will return to the Marvel Universe, but according to Loki, this isn’t the first time Hercules has had a falling out with Odin’s family.
“Hercules—another big shot,” Loki told Morbius. “I was a big problem for him.”
